the 11s under a stock rim is pretty hard. I got 10s now, and they are seriously hitting the inside of the chassis. I guess for limited street use it is possible, but it would be tough.

Here are some side by sides of my car(s) and Anderson.

It would be interesting to hear how they did it.

I think mark's is about 2" wider side to side.

Mark,

You are running eibach correct?

I am running (as was the car they came off of) 2.5" springs. They would not work with normal springs.

As well these rims are TRACK only, I would NEVER run these on the street.

Thanks Mark. I bumped my nose into the monitor trying to get close enough to see anything in those pics.

That is what mine look like.

18 inch x 11 inch $781.58 Taken from there website, that is PER rim.
Pretty. Why track only?

My plan, in the end, is to find the previsou generation turbo twist wheels (hollow, 11 inches) forthe rear, and the 10x65mm for the front. I just don't care for multi-part wheels for my own cars. Little bolts and creases - not my thing.

Brendan, I dont think these rims have enough meat to stand up to heavy potholes and raised manhole covers on the street.

Plus a bugger to clean.

PLus I need to find a guy with an english wheel to make a bump in my hood. So I thought maybe that same tool could be used to make the 928 fenders more usable for wider tires (Really, when you think about it, high performance FRONT engined cars have QUITE a bit of meat on the front when they really mean it - Corvette, M5, Mercedes E55, Any front engined Ferrari. They don't go hog-wild because of tramlining, and steering issues, but they go way past 225.

Ive driven Joes and marks with 305+ front tires and what a difference!
some of the difference is the wider track, so just putting a 305 up front isnt all of it. you need some track width as well. In fact, if you ran 275s up front but was able to get them way out wide, it would be much better as well.

The reason I posted those pics, is that you can see that you can do a pretty radical fender modification up front and it is hard to tell from stock. Put it this way, he can mount up my rear rims and just put them up front with no issues!

ummmmmm

When you do all this fancy annealing, keep one thing in mind .. undercoating, aka rust preventative is VERY INFLAMMABLE!!!!

No, im not running the eibachs, i have 2.5" springs (hypercoil) and the konis. Scot is running the eiback /bilstien set up.

I can still imagine a .5 " inward offset, but thats pushing it on the inside.

If I can find out how Mark A did that fender extension outward, im going to do it.

Mark, what is the height of your front tires?

Is there any chance that you could let me know how long your shock body is as well?

Brendan,
I know a guy that's a sheet metal artist. He made my shaker scoop out of aluminum from a drawing. It came out sweet. He's not cheap but he's very talented. If you're interested in his info let me know.

Yes please Hammer. If I can't do it on the hood itself (my first choice, no seams) - then I could get other aluminum done and then tack it in. I have more time now that I am happily driving another 928.

The guy who did Mark A. fender work could probably make a body out of old beer cans ! The front fenders have long thin Pizza slices two per fender welded in crust end to crust end then ground and pounded close to shape with a far bit of body filler used to blend it.
