I've been using a Optima Red for 2 years. Very happy with it.

My last and current car both had Duralast which fit well. I will be switching to a Porsche battery after this to keep things original.

It's not as chic as Optima, but the Autozone Duralast has done well for me. I just replaced mine after 7 years and 100K+ miles.

I have a Duralast D-49 pro-rated for 7 years that I've had since Feburary 2000. The key to longevity is to use a good alternator.

My $50 Sam's Club battery lasted 7 years. Since it had a 9 year warrenty they gave me a new one for $34 with tax - 3 year free replacement, 8 year warrenty.

I think the key to battery longevity is to not live in Phoenix...

Wally World. There's one in every town, so if it ever fails a replacement is easy to get.

I've always used the Interstate MTP-91. Fits perfectly, no complaints about battery life.

Considered Optima last time, but have to make sure they're not too tall. Even then, doesn't appear to fit as well as the Interstate. Just my opinion...

Used the Interstate mentioned above but was only gettin 2 1/2 years out of them.
Mooched the Optima red top out of my son, Zack's wounded 81' fine ever since.
However, had to remove those thick rubber battery box cushions as the battery cover would not close.
Still a tad tall so I have a thin hard plastic cover on top of the Battery now and can close the cover fairly easily'

We use this one just purchased a couple of months ago. Very happy with it so far.

ODY-PC1700MJT -- 1055 cranking amps; 13x6-1/2x7", from Summit Racing -- a longer ground cable was required and he still needs to make an official hold down of course.

We had the Optima Red for a few years too -- fine for a stock set up, but it wasn't enough power for the supercharger system with all the extra electrics, though this one seems to handle it fine.

Hope this helps!

+1. It was in the car when I bought it, and I got a free replacement under warranty (unnecessarily - my electrical problems were elsewhere). I can't vouch for longevity, though - it's only been a year or so.

Otherwise, I'm be a Costco battery man. I've consistently gotten 4+ years out of them for half the price of the fancy-pantsy brands.

that odyssey battery is a super expensive dry cell... worth over $300 and you have it held in place with blocks of wood....That is ghetto LOL
