It's temporary. Stupid us, I guess we thought it made more sense to get the car running, rolling and safe before bothering with the little details like battery hold downs. Thanks for the kind thought though!

I have a Duralast also - though its not 7 years old! -

I also have a smaller version of the Odyssey - a PC680MC installed - though its not actually connected up yet.

It has been riding in the car for about 9 months as part of a mounting location test... and because I have fallen way behind on this back-up battery project.
(every time I have time its too hot...)

My goal was is an independant back-up battery since in my 8 years of ownership the only issues that have ever caused the car not to start are battery related (3 times...)

'nother Duralast here. Just picked one up for my 85, though I completely forgot about Costco...DOH!!!

The GTS has a Diehard...only because that is what came with the car. It took a dump a year and a hlf back, so Sears gave me another.

No clue as to the brand in the Euro. I do know this,it's gonna need a fresh one soon.....hmmmm, Costco.

The '84 has Duralast D-49 since 2006. '81 is Sears Diehard that PO got in 2001.

I always use DieHards. They always die about 3 months before the warranty expires. I take 'em in and get another one and a credit for the remaining months on warranty. It happens every time. I have the same battery in my Rabbit, and when one or the other dies, I simply pull the other one and put in in the car I need to go to Sears and get a replacement. Two days ago, the negative terminal connector in the Rabbit MELTED while trying to start the car. Sheesh!! To what is this world coming??

Hey Smuudaaar, well, I guess the toes aren't actually broken.

By the way, we saw your PM first before we came back to this thread...thanks for the offer.

Kevin was planning to make himself one out of steel....buuuut....aluminum is shinier. If you were going to make one for him instead, would it mount to the original mounting points on the car?

We'll send you a pic with clearance measurements manana...

Thanks again!!
