I've always used the Interstate MTP-91. Fits perfectly, no complaints about battery life.
Considered Optima last time, but have to make sure they're not too tall. Even then, doesn't appear to fit as well as the Interstate. Just my opinion...

Used the Interstate mentioned above but was only gettin 2 1/2 years out of them.
Mooched the Optima red top out of my son, Zack's wounded 81' fine ever since.
However, had to remove those thick rubber battery box cushions as the battery cover would not close.
Still a tad tall so I have a thin hard plastic cover on top of the Battery now and can close the cover fairly easily'

We use this one just purchased a couple of months ago. Very happy with it so far.
ODY-PC1700MJT -- 1055 cranking amps; 13x6-1/2x7", from Summit Racing -- a longer ground cable was required and he still needs to make an official hold down of course.
We had the Optima Red for a few years too -- fine for a stock set up, but it wasn't enough power for the supercharger system with all the extra electrics, though this one seems to handle it fine.
Hope this helps!

Otherwise, I'm be a Costco battery man. I've consistently gotten 4+ years out of them for half the price of the fancy-pantsy brands.
