Brendan, if you are going to make it so that any length of runner could be used why not have an O-ring seal between the outter body and the runner, then have the runner be able to slide up and down, and have an electric solinoid push the upper plenum up and down thus lengthening and shortening the runner length
I think it may require a tool change for that, would probably be easier to just have the injector boss egged into the inlet. But that would be tricky to program.

Can you go into more detail. I want to make sure I design something that is doable by a normal CNC guy. I mean it will be a waste of time for me to design it as it is in my head and then find out its 1k each side. That doesn't make any sense.
You mean I should just make the injector have smaller boss and just stick it on the round area of the inlet? Should I decrease round shapes? I can make that round runner piece square to save tool time...
actually Brendan any CNC should be able to do that without issues, but what I am saying is that to do a smaller item like that, or that fine of detail it will require a smaller bit, which is more time each piece is spent in the machine.
And I can't really do "square" because of the port entry angle. I mean I can, but it would necessitate me removing my wish to have the injector hole on the flange instead of having to be added to the wall of the separate intake runner. Thats an extra step, and I think that I should put as much in the flange as possible since the cost of CNC is setup and just getting it started, right?
