That looks a lot like a porsche sport seat from '85-'95. Look at the bolster and seat bottom side cushions.

Good - maybe it will blend into my interior then when I decide to actually replaced the ones in my car. They look like they got attacked by a rake.

Right. I have the stock belts for daily driving, 5-pt harnesses for racing.

But way better than the seat belts velcroed in my daughters Factory Five Cobra kit car

BB, 2nd what Jim said.
Check that seat bolt to make sure it's rated to take multi-G loads from the seat belt.

Velcro.
Poor man's quick release seat belt.
Much lighter than those cammed release buckles.

Mongo, if you get confused about seat mounting, call forum sponsor. DR has Recaro's in his Euro.
I got to sit in it last year when I learned the art of re-installing 928S rear seat cushions.

Man I would love to get those seats in. The more I look at them, the more I am tempted. Electrics **** me off now.

Someone even told me Acura RSX seats would be a good choice, but I don't think they will fit. Too wide maybe?

Mongo:

Now that you are in Norcal and interested in Recaro mounting, drop me a PM.

FWIW, I have installed many sets of Recaros in various P-Cars, including my own 928. I need as much headroom as I can get, especially the 928 w/ sunroof. Mounting seats like the Recaro "Sport" can be accomplished with the factory seat belt receiver in use safely. I'd be happy to show you.

Regards

Sweet! Thanks for the offer! How did you mount your buckles? Did you drill into the torque tube tunnel? What Recaros did you decide to put in your car?

It may be a while till I put new seats in my car since I have to do a brake job on my car. The pad light just came on this morning and it looks like I'm down to like 30% pad in the front. Might as well do wheel bearings while I'm at it..

Andy:

I fab a mount for the receiver that welds to a specific (low and strong) Recaro seat rail. If the seat ends up too low, I have used spacers to raise the seat or the rail, owner preference.

FWIW, I just did brakes and front wheel bearings on my GTS. Had the same pad light warning along with very worn rotors. All fixed now...

Sorry Guys. I have to close the thread now. Looking at Paul Champagne's scripted seats have inspired me to go through him when I save up enough cash and get my seats reupholstered.

I'm going to see if I can buy some memory seat switches and redo EVERY SINGLE one by the cut-n-splice method.

Thanks for everyone's replies!
