David has the look right there baby! NICE!

Joe, yea, get those stock wheels for $250 so you can mount up your good tires and then spend money on a TB/WP, a REALLY good exterior detail job (paint cleaning, polishing, waxing, the whole shooting match), then get our buddy Paul C to help you with guidance on an interior for the car...THEN AFTER ALL THAT IS DONE AND PAID FOR, work on wheel, RMB/exhaust, driving skills. After you have perfected ALL of those THEN think about brakes.

If you want to do something fun for your brakes think about just painting the stock S4 caliper and putting a "PORSCHE" sticker on it... That will really clean them up and make them look nice (if you take your time and do it right and maybe get some guidance from guys here), also remember that in the not so distant past black calipers on Porsche were the standard color... those cars also had very open spoke design wheels too...

Good luck!

Your stock S4 brakes were made by Brembo, so they are nothing to sneeze at performance wise.

Here is what one of your Rennlist brothers did to his S4 brakes:

http://members.rennlist.com/v1uhoh/brakerf.htm

Add some cast-holed Zimmerman rotors, some good pads, fresh brake fluid, new SS hoses, and new sensors.

Front around $170 each:

Rear around $150 each:

The whole job is easily done for around $900. Do that and you'll have the GTS brakes look without the GTS brake upgrade kick in the pocket book and still be stopping like a champ.

It's on my to-do list as well.

Actually

if your going to replace rotors and pads, then i would consider the GTS upgrade.

you will buy 965 turbo front rotors at $150 each and then just buy the larger calipers at another $320 each then you have your big brake upgrade.

I say if your going to replace rotors, just buy the ones that will fit a GTS and then buy the GTS big black brakes and call it a day.

Otherwise if you can get by with turning rotors on the S4 just do that and replace pads.

just something to think about considering how cheap the factory 965 cast holed rotors are!

You're just pitching in some cash to help fund Rennlist.

There are few places to find the knowledge that been assembled here.

Honestly, if you figure you need new rotors. I'd just get stock/OEM replacements. They will work just as well as a GTS/Turbo Rotor. With the proper pad, i'm guessing that that will be MORE than sufficient for your needs without spending extra cash. Do like James said and paint your Calipers with a good Caliper paint, i've helped him on his cars with that, easy and cheap, and looks great. Spend your money elsewhere on the Cross-drilled rotors though, you'd be better off with a solid rotor. It's less "blingy" though, so if you need the extra "bling", then go for it, but not for performance.

Well, I should go see Paul in about a month or two so he can look at my car I want a really luxurious/elegant look to my car. i absolutely love the Italian hides he uses. I'm going to bring some personality into my car since I am Italian. BTW Does anyone know where to find a 328GTB??

OT, but Rennlist is owned by a NASDAQ listed profitable company these days

Cross-drilled rotors allow faster cooling of the brake rotor (everyone should agree there). Some say they help clean the brake pad (same as slotted rotors). Some say less unsprung weight (but it can't be that much). For the minor price increase, I would go with cast cross-drilled rotors over the plain jane stock ones. If you are on a budget, just turn your rotors and reuse them (if they are vibrating while braking). If they have been turned once already, you better replace them or they will warp faster than before.

sty3x, if your brakes need work, do that before the interior. What good are Paul's leather seats gonna do you if you can't stop the car?

I'm sure Rennlist is only profitable due to member and sponsor support. So help us out.
