I haven't bought them yet I'm all ears I really don't want to spend that much money. Wheel Enhancement quoted me $4800 on a set of Club Sports refinished not even knew. I just hanged up on them....

Just sit tight with $1000 in hand you will come across a much nicer set of wheels here on Rennlist. You see the wheels in my avatar? They are perfect, i got them on this board for less then what your D90's would cost you from OKF.

Cheers
Agreed 100%, you can usually find something like used Fikses for around $1500! Those thin 5-spoke Carrera wheels are great and shouldn't cost much.

I would replace your sunroof and hatch seals with the TB stuff, it shouldn't cost much for a little peace of mind. Water in these cars does NOT favor them well. Also, just like Xlot said, check your AC drains. If they get clogged it could spell leaks for you.

If you absolutely want new 928 seats by all means, but you'll save a ton of weight with something aftermarket. I'm a big advocate of loosing unnecessary weight. I'll probably be replacing my seats in my current car as well. I need more lateral, and butt support. The 928 seats are great for comfy drives, but not so much for keeping you IN the seat. Unless they are sport seats. Just food for thought. DR at 928 Specialists could help there as well, since you were already thinking of going his route.

Forgot to add, if you don't have a set of manuals, add a little money for them. They are absolutely necessary for any 928 owner!

I would keep up with a Mr. Jim Bailey and Mr. Mark Anderson. I recall they had a complete burgundy full leather interior available in the past for $1500 was it?

Maybe burgundy with new black deviating carpet would look cool on a guards red car, or maybe not. Point is keep your eyes open. I can tell from the pics that your front seats are about as worn as ive ever seen S4 seats. The tops of the rears also look like they are split at the seam. If you can find an entire interior i would go that route, again if you can live with a slightly less than ideal color then you could make out like a bandit.

As for Burgundy, since you have an entire black interior, you could mix and match and end up with a cool contrasting black and red interior that wouldnt look as Gaudy as some of the other ones ive seen.

Shop around, deals come up all the time.

I really like the beige interiors...my dream would be a champagne II full leather interior. I was thinking of buying a used vinyl dash pod console and just putting them in while my originals are being reupholstered

No sir not at all =D I think we all want to put make our cars a little more unique and personal. I really like this car for its color and the fact it has a rear AC it looks very exotic in my opinion also of course the rub strip delete.

I also have a 911 85 chassis just plain metal that I wish to rebuild into a custom slantnose light green metallic with new beige leather. Of course that project will start after I graduate law school which should be in about 5 years :-\

Joe,

That D90 wheel is not even the right size for the 928... You should be looking at 7.5" front and 9" rears for a 928 in D90! They are the GT wheel from '90/'91 I think really.

Wait for a set of take offs of the 5 spoke new 996/997 variety and spend an extra $500 or so to get them. You will be MUCH happier with them and they look TONS better and REALLY make the car more up to date looking!

EVERYONE wants a Champagne II interior btw...nothing new there! There are few if ANY guys doing leather work on 928's that do a better job than Paul! He is a MASTER and a TRUE ARTIST with his inspired work! I love it!

TBH with you James I really like the look of the new 5 Spoke Carrera rims. I actually wanted some however I just wouldn't like the way they would look with out the big red brakes. I really like these two wheels though however I don't know if they will fit my 928 or w/e I really like them!! I would go normal, body-colored or some kind of black even matte black with my huge gts rotors and yellow caliper

I think for now I will just find a cheap set of flatdish S4 and roll around in that.

the second wheel pictures is the 17" "10 spoke" rim. Those can be had pretty cheap. Like $500 a set. The first wheel is the 18" GT3 MKI wheel and those are really nice. I too am looking for a nice set of those. Although there is a set currently on Ebay for $1000 BIN.

If your going to put new wheels on, forget the flat dish S4 wheels. if your going to change wheels, change them to something you like S4 flat dish wheels look like .... well a garbage can lid frankly.

I appologize if this sounds crappy but you call that clean? I'm surprised someone else hasn't commented on the pic. I would have hated to see it dirty

Looks clean to me. A camera flash will pick up every little thing and make the interior look dirtier than it actually is. If you can pick up a nice set of S4 wheels to use for the time being for $250, I would do it since you already have new tires in the original sizes for the car. You can upgrade to high-dollar wheels and tires after you get the more important things taken care of on the car.

My car is similar to yours and I put the 18"x8" and 18"x10" Carrera III wheels on it. Whatever wheel you decide to buy, post here before you do to make sure the offsets are correct.
