Wow, not only an excellent find but an awesome unique color!!
Same for the 5-speeds. My 81 has the S spoiler, 3-spoke steering wheel, flat dish wheels, sport seats, without LSD or S brakes.

This takes the cake... a candidate for Find of the Year?
Congratulations!!! And good job talking the PO into selling! It would have been brutal if he balked...

His and the sig other's initials. Evidently the car was for her back in the day
Also have a handwritten log book detailing every mile the car was driven and what for. This was owned by the dental practice you see and hey who knows when Mr. IRS might come knocking...

OK you caught me. Normally when I show up to buy a bike I'm in my shop Eurovan, this time I drove the 'S4 accidentally on purpose. I wasn't supposed to know he had the car and I figured if he saw me in it that it may break the ice on taking the '82 home.

Actually he had already had a plan to move the car along. He just didn't know the best venue for that and I happened to walk in the door.

I agree, he missed out on some great times in this car. However, after getting to know this man, his life was/is not lacking in any area whatsoever. All in all it was a tremendous experience getting to meet him, especially the stories he shared with me of all sorts and kinds while we waited for the flatbed.
