I doubt anyone will come up with the correct $$$$$ to get it out of my hands, but if someone had the right amount of money I am open to moving it to its next home. I'd rather keep it, but as noted I hate not being able to drive the cars that I have and I just love this car to much to drive it but drive it is all I want to do! Right now (w/o driving) it is worth the most money... If I put even 1k miles per year on it the cars value would have plummeted. That '86 with 6900 miles or something was what a $25k car... that won't even get you CLOSE to this car. It will take a lot more than that. So, I really doubt anyone will actually buy the car from me, I am just opening up a dialog...just in case!
SO, guys, it will more than likely continue to live in the Austin, TX area for a long time to come and it will make appearances wherever I can get it out to so the maximum number of folks can enjoy it!

Wow James! Never thought I'd read a for sale post for Blue 82.
Don't the rules say you need to post a price? I'd say $100k or reasonable offer

Dan that sounds good, but this is all about a Barn Find Car, this is NOT a for sale thread... $100k or reasonable offer is a good way to put it! And a reasonable offer would be closer to $100k than to $0 for sure!
Just letting you guys know so you don't completely waste your time dreaming about parking BLU82 in your garage!
In fact I don't sell my cars, I just put them up for adoption and this is one of those cars that will only go to a very well heeled, meticulous and careful owner!

There are several that I have shot with over the years... They live across the street from me. I am in a fly in fly out 'hood.
The white mono-aerobatic is a Giles and has a $60k paint job...it has been sold on. The white with orange stripe is an A36 Bonanza and the biplane is an S2 (I think) Pitts! Oh, we shot with two others as well...high wing minimally aerobatic but I can't remember what they are...

Wow was this really 12 years ago? Damn.
Hey 928 folks I don’t have a 928 any longer but I’m still a P-car guy through and through. Finding/resurrecting this car was one of my all time best car/bike experiences for sure.
I remember James putting the car up for sale a few years back. It got blogged on BaT. Some of the trolls that chimed in there were petty funny:
https://bringatrailer.com/2014/08/25...2-porsche-928/
I’m pretty sure James sold it to a guy who posted on Ferrarichat. And then maybe 2 or 3 years ago I got a call from a complete stranger asking me about the car. So I think it sold again.
Whoever has the car now may find this interesting. If you go way back to page 1 of this zombie thread you’ll see the whole reason I found out about the car was because of a motorcycle. A 1984 Honda VF1000F Interceptor. The original owner of the 928 had also bought the bike new. I bought both vehicles from him in 2008 after they both had been dormant since the mid-80’s. Both were ridiculously low mileage and basically like new.
Anyway. Back then I had the bike professionally woken up and a dealer in NY (Bob Weaver Motorsports) bought it from me. The bike also had matching Bates leathers, boots, gloves and a Freddie Spencer replica Arai helmet from back in the day.
It appears Mr. Weaver has moved on from the bike and it’s part of a museum in WI. Same mileage/condition as when I sold it in ‘08.
Whoever the caretaker of Blue 82 is now may find it interesting the very same bike is for sale today. A friend was looking on the bay yesterday and showed it to me. I knew right away it was the same machine:

Maybe the bike and car will end up together again and live happily ever after who knows.

Keisan, you were involved in so many epic situations back in that time frame! Best reading ever!
Blu 82 find was unbelievable.
A couple more: the pawn shop shop countach, the Turq, and who could forget the saga of white fox. Epic.
Hope the owner of blu 82 considers the bike!

Hi all. I am the new owner of this car, purchased last week on "Bring-a-Trailer". I have not seen the car in person yet, but it should arrive here in Chicago in the next day or two. I have wanted a 928 for a long time and really, really hard to pass up this one. I can't say what my exact plans are with the car, but it will no doubt see an increase in its roughly 120 mile/year historic usage.
This will be my fourth blue Porsche, in addition to a dark blue PTS 1986 911, a "Midnight Blue Metallic" 1991 964 Turbo (with Bahamas Yellow powder coated brake calipers!) and a new "Gentian Blue" Taycan 4s.
I am going to have a friend of mine who is a really talented photographer shoot the car soon, and I will be sure to post here as well as to his Instagram page. Look forward to updating everyone on the Arrow Blue 928.

Awesome and congratulations - that is one of the halo cars! Glad you will plan to enjoy it. I don't think there is a wrong answer as to what to do with it. Looking forward to following you here.

Welcome.
You couldn't have picked a much nicer 928 to start your journey with.
James Morrison, who owned it for a while, posts on here sometimes. He may chime in.
