Hey Charley --
Whatchya smokin' tonite? Ask Mike for his pics!
Matter of fact, I was shooting the shot below
(OK, sorry Ernest -- I managed a polarizing snafu)...
when Mike appeared in 'the window' at the end of the tunnel... I am at the 'end of the tunnel' in his shot..

More pics and the 'what-the-heck really happened' comments soon . .

All kidding aside...I'm jealous of everyone who got to go this year!
Funny, because I haven't had to touch them in two years since we did it on the side of the road going to SITM. And I have used them quite a bit. If that is all that happens to me during these trips I am very happy.

Someone else had wiper wiltage during the microburst downpour whilst on the BRP run to Little Siena.
Makes the twisties that much more fun when you suddenly can't see. At least in the mountains we didn't get the hail that hit the lowlands.

2 of the best 928 shots I've seen in awhile.
That's my wife's Kiln Red car in the shot. Mike was pulling up next to us when we were getting out. She tried to make the same picture, but it didn't turn out as well! nice shot

Must have been an epidemic, I heard Tass had the similar problem with his wiper

I was actually at just pulling out after fixing my wiper when Rixter was pulling in with the same problem. Backing up to check on him, I clunked my polished clubsport on the granite curb.. I welded it up yesterday....tire is being remounted right now. Somehow I managed to lose all of the stick-on wheel weights over the weekend. I am having them all rebalanced today and will tape them this time. I also discovered that my wheel spacers were not hub centric and had some play in them. Got some new ones coming. I'm hoping these fixes will solve my 80+mph vibe problem.

We know you're a loose nut, Rixter.

Glad nothing untoward happened in those seconds of Oh Shat Aye Can't See.

So for you who never drive your fine vehicles in the wet, might want to check those wiper hold down nuts before heading on long trips.

Boy I sure did. We had to hide in a bank drive-thru waiting for the hail to go away, still got nailed by it and now a have a few fine nicks in the hood. And we never made it out of Banner Elk! But my wipers work great, and I drive in the rain all the time.

hmm, my car could use a new paint job, maybe I should examine it closely to see if I have an insurance claim...

Depends on your insurance of course, but you may have a deductible that wouldn't make it worth while....

That has definitely occurred to me, but the paint is original and nice so I don't want a repaint. If I could find a guy who can do paint repair it would be ideal, and then I can preserve the original finish. The prospect that scared the crap out of me was dents from the hail - bondo hell would just ruin the car. At least I escaped that one.
