First of all Roger is correct in his actions.

Kraig if you want labor warranty then pay for the markup that the mechanic or dealer adds and suck it up, otherwise take the 99% odds gamble that you'll get a good part from the big three suppliers.

The fact that you had the cajones to come here and use this forum to save $100 which you don't even deserve is unbelievable.

Another thing I love about the Rennlist 928 community. This guy was quickly seen through and a stand up supplier was defended.

Moral of the story ......don't mess with family.

Man this is really a suck *** situation, and one of the most respected vendors got caught in a pileup for no good reason other than a penny pincher trying to get something for free.
Kraig like i said before your going to harm yourself in ways that will eventually cost you more that you can imagine.
I would suggest that you offer an apology to Roger, and think about your moral compass next time you choose to work a deal.. Stan

Curious what kind of warranty Kraig includes with the sale of one of his automobiles.

Reading an earlier post Roger mentions that he will bill Kraig for the part. That implies that Kraig has yet to PAY for the first switch or the second switch. Quick search of DMV turns up no licensed dealer under California Classic Cars which is a violation of numerous California laws. No one may broker or sell cars with the intent to make a profit without the proper license ,a zoned place of business for retail auto sales, very complete record keeping and compliance with numerous required forms and disclosures. Over the years I have found that people who expect others to be dishonest usually base that on their own behavior.

Funny part is he probably paid way too much for a 1980 with none original seatcovers and the wrong S rims. The $8,900 asking price is about TWICE the going rate. Of all the 928s the USA 1980 has about the least going for it ! The 85 MPH speedometer should have been the first clue.

Powned! Kraig, you skank. This supplier has been just about the best around for 928 stuff. You bought the part from him because you got a discount. Then took it to a 3rd party guy to install, basically handing him the part and the car, trying to save a few more bucks. So, the part fails, and you want the supplier to make you whole, pay for shipping too, PLUS pay for the work someone else did?

Jeeeeeezzzzzzzz.......

You could have taken it to Porsche, or just take the car to the mechanic and let him supply the part. In that case, when you pick up the car and test it, if it's not right, you don't pay until it's fixed! When you hand the guy a part and say 'I'll hire you to put this ELECTRICAL part in my car'. You assume liability from the second it leaves your hand.

Now, it's found that you're trying to profit more off him? Yikes, I don't think you'll be selling any cars here for a long while.

Nuff said.

Nice Troll kill.

Glad to see our close-nit community come to the aid of one of our respected suppliers!
