Well Kraig, where the hell did you go?

Funny, it sounds like Roger handn't even gotten paid for the switch, and yet the guy was asking for money back. He must have gotten the bill and decided to get a credit before a bill so he would owe nothing.

Care to explain yourself? Care to explain your business?

Bill, how does one go about reporting a suspicious dealer and seeing to it that some state official visits them to make sure they are a responsible dealer and following the law?

Ryan:

The usual process is via customer complaints. That's how I took care of my incident years ago. However, I have some friends that may take an interest even though this guy may be relatively harmless and a very small potato. He really ticked me off in the first post in this thread.

Well, his bio on Alfabb lists "Occupation car sales"
http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/members/kraigg.html

He's all over car forums.. here he is on bimmerfest, where he's admitting to having replaced the engine on a car that his site lists as "Original, solid, straight, unmolested".

Anyone watch the Jay Leno video on jay's garage about the Honda S600 that Kraig apparently sold him? (link found on the sales site) Jay actually makes mention that the previous owner had done some dubious things, and that they had to do a full tear down and rebuild of both motor and car.. funny stuff.

Well Bill, your mission, should you choose to accept it . . . (que Mission Impossible music). The guy appears to represent all that's bad about used car salesmen, and one less scumbag used car saleman the better for all of us. Besides he needs to learn; you don't mess with Rennlist family!

Just for the record he did pay all his invoices prior to the post.

Hi Roger:

I'm glad you stuck to your guns! I would have done the same in this case. There is no way you can control what happens after you sell a part, so you can't be liable for that. Yet, litigation is always a worry, and insurances know it (and charge accordingly).

I have a California Vehicle Resale License. Everybody involved in selling vehicles - being independent or as an employee of a dealership - needs it. Its fairly easy to get, actuallly. The most hassle was to get an appointment for the biometrics.

Anyway, I'm not involved in selling cars these days, but it was a nice experience to try for a few weeks, and get to test drive all the latest Mercedes models. But then I decided to rather look for a job that some day might actually allow me to buy one...

Seems that Kraig learned that if he F#$$S with my boy Roger, the whole body of Rennlist will open up a can of Whoop Arss on him.

So I guess I should have raked Roger over the coals because he gave me an 86-89 sunroof switch instead of a 90-95 switch recently. Guess I should have charged his Arss at least an hour worth of labor when I installed it and found out it was the wrong part. Oh yeah, btw, he hasn't even charged me for the parts that I got from him 2 weeks ago in the first place. And Oh btw, he's making good on it by switching it out for me next time I'm at his house.

Dude, take your $#%T off line and do not jack with one of the most honest vendors around in an open forum!! Roger will take care of your *** to a fault!!

Am I being too harsh or have I just been drinking too much??!!

Having been around a "mossie" You obviously know "633 Squadron" (now that music will be in your head all day) my all time favorite movie as a kid.

a clip for you and MrMerlin

and the best classic fly by ever...

Some of my fondest memories growing up in England were sitting around airports with my "I spy" book logging aircraft tail numbers..airlines..etc. My favs were the BEA Tridents..BOAC VC-10's and anything Boeing ,specifically the PAN AM and TWA 707's of the day. Im nostalgic when it comes to avation and i miss those old... noisy..smokey..gass guzzling...screaming fast jets.

Back on topic i guess.
Got the gasket and studs BTW...ill check for an invoice.

Chuck, it's kind of OT, but check this out:

Power Window Switch Info (A little BTDT story from me that made it to the Nichols tip site; similar to your window switch problem. You can use your older switch, if you want to make a minor modification to it).

Before reading a single note further than the first post I can tell you with absolute certainty that the supplier is NOT liable for the labour you elected to have performed. So you buy a $100 part but want the poor guy who sold it to you to pay for the $1000 in labour? Insane. You're one of those guys who think the world owes you something.

Wow, you guys sure make 928 ownership a joy with your quick generalizations. I was a little ticked off with my part, and you can see from my initial post that I DID NOT identify the original part seller. Clear on that, everyone? I'm not out to make enemies. I sell MY OWN cars out of my house, and I clearly show all the plates in all the pics I have of MY OWN cars on MY OWN website. I'm just an enthusiast that wants to try every car out there before I shuffle off this earth. I make very little on the sale of my cars, and most of them I lose money on. But yes, they are all my own cars.

And I sent the engine out to the east coast on that S600 to be rebuilt, and got burned. I hadn't realized how bad it was until Jay pointed out the errors of the rebuilder I chose on his video of the restoration of that car.

I'm a little gun shy when it comes to dealing with bad suppliers and bad mechanics. Like you all, I just want a little justice from time to time, as I have a very limited budget to work with.

The whole Honda S600 experience left a bad taste in my mouth, and I was glad to let Jay finish the car with his unlimited experience and funding.

I'm beginning to feel the same way about the Porsche community. Remember the old joke? What's the difference between a Porsche and a porcupine?

I never really believed that old saw, until now.....
