95 race days, still the un-opened engine built in the factory back in 1986.
Still driven to and from the track. A top ITE competitor, at a fraction of the average cost racer out there.
Got to love porsche engineering! They sure made this one right.
Only engine performance modification, is a set of headers!
tires: 275/305 used RA1 toyos
engine: stock with headers
ride hight: 110mm front 135mm rear
suspension: devek level II koni with hypercoil springs (750/475lb) devek front swaybar, rear drop links
aero: make-shift front spitter from homedepot, rear wing
Bone stock everything else. No coolers, no bushing changes, no accusump, nothing!

Not sure I understand the question. Any 928 track car...not looking for cars that are primarily street cars that are taken to the track, but TRACK CARS! If you can drive them on the street, well more power to you, but this is for the SERIOUS track cars.
Sound good guys?

and 500 ft-lbs of torque. Oh well, have fun.

That's why I asked. There are some SERIOUS race cars here that are not track

I didn't understand what you meant sorry! ANY 928 race car...not just ROAD RACE car. Sorry, yea, I would LOVE to see you guys with the open road, drag, and Runway cars yes. When I read your question I didn't understand exactly what other kinds of 928 race cars their might be, but later I thought (from the looks of your Avatar actually) that I might have missed your meaning.
So, to make this long answer even LONGER! If you have ANY KIND of 928 track car (more track, less street) put it up here. I am NOT looking for supercharged or turbocharged street cars that go to DE's... I am looking at race ready cars. Maybe you don't actually race it but you could if you wanted to.
Sorry for the confusion!
Can't wait to see what you guys have! Is this THE BEST TIME FOR 928's OR WHAT?!!!

Here is the beginning of the photo journal rebuild of Mark Anderson's big time race car from the early/mid '90's! A friend here in Austin bought it from Mark as a rolling chassis and I got it from him. I think I picked the car up in 1999 and got started on it then. The first seven photos of the build were all taken at a shop in Georgetown. The owner of that shop dropped the ball big time and the next bunch of shots were at the shop that finished the build. The last shots from a shop were at the shop that did the final tuning and really made the car track ready. The last shots are on track fun time!
The shop that did the main build up of the car was David Moore's Moorespeed here in Austin, TX...he does a great job building race cars and you can see the first rate fab work that he did on my roll cage to make a door for me so I could get in and out of the car. When I am at the track it FASCINATES everyone! VERY COOL!
Matt at TPWS did the final tune in on the car. He is a HUGE 928 fan and owns and drives his '85 928 S whenever he is not driving his 996TT! He likes working on them and does a great job tuning.

This dark blue car was the "80 Euro S" that I bought for its engine and then used a few other parts of and then parted out the rest of the car. The first shop brokered this deal and then later he stated how he thought the car would not be fast and yada, yada, yada. Until the car ran several years later I was not sure what he was talking about... It became clear early on though that this "EURO S" was not making anything like 300HP+ that a headered, custom exhausted EURO S should be making. This car is probably not making 250HP (though it has not been dynoed for confirmation of what it is making). When the green flag flies and everyone drives off in the distance you KNOW you are WAY behind in the HP wars. My guess is we are at about 235HP or so...that would be about right for an early 4.5L with the exhaust this car has.
Anyway, the beauty part of all this now is that PCA rules have changed and GT rules are based on weight of the car (w/ driver and gas) and displacement and # of cams. SOOO, now this car instead of racing in GT2 will race in GT4 and if I add a few pounds maybe even GT5! YEA! I can run with those guys!
Here are some more pics! Ok, NO MORE PICS...apparently I have exceeded my limit... Anyone know when that expires and I can post more pics, or am I done FOREVER???

I am going to try and finish this photo journal up on Photobucket. If successful I will edit this post with the link.
Try this link guys. I think I have the whole build process documented here and I have put notes with each shot so you will know what you are looking at. The slide show should start with the car as Mark Anderson raced it. If it looks like the picture I use for my avatar then click to reverse the slide show.
Hope the link works and you guys enjoy the show!
Best,
James
