Thank you Bill for another great picnic and fun drive! Also thanks to all the raffle prize donors...I won an air and oil filter provided by 928 Intl....thanks guys!!!

Lost a headlight lens on the drive to the picnic. My first thought was "where did that balloon come from?" as it floated over the drivers fender and past the side mirror. Then I heard it shatter into pieces behind me and realized it was my lens. I guess the glue holding it to the housing finally gave up, I have no idea if it's the original 21 year old headlight or not. Bummer.

The tradition lives on. A million thanks to Bill for the herculean effort of making a party for a grateful mob.

I was major impressed by the primo job Tony has done with his '94 GTS, Probably the sharpest Shark I have seen.

I was bummed I didn't get to hear Dennis' new motor, OK engine. Jeff had the only motor I guess you could say. Hope Dennis' smoke problem turned out to be minor.

Award winning ribs, again. Must be the secret sauce.

Five GTS's at a regional gathering. I think that's only one less than they had at OCIC Denver. Pretty cool.

In fact, just a cool day period.

Well, as far ss I know Dennis is a non-smoker, and this was a one-time lapse...

I had the privilege of getting a short ride in the beast today. Unfortunately, it was cut short by a cloud of smoke that exited the fuse panel area. The engine kept on running, but all of a sudden, Dennis reported a low coolant warning - even though the expansion tank was filled generously, and we did not find any leaks. We checked a few fuses but realized that we could not trace the issue where we were.

I hope Dennis quickly finds what caused that puff of smoke, and also the reason for the low coolant warming (which likely are related).

I also got a quick ride in the electric chair... err... shark. That was the opposite experience from riding with Dennis - snooth power and existing ride comfort versus raw power and noise, along with a bone rattling but nevertheless fun ride!

Here is me at the beginning of the day. WILL IT ALL FIT??? NO PROBLEM!! Although the nine bags of ice I picked up on the way made things a little tight.

Nicole,
You hurt my feelings
You definately need another ride with a fully charged battery pack. Theirs plenty of power brute power, just ask "iceman" he got a fully charged ride.

Hats off to Bill for hosting another Sharks in the Park. Bill's time and energy spent helping all of us with our sharks simply amazes me. Thanks

For me, it was great to see Dennis' car make the event. I also had fun seeing the two cars together. With Dennis' engine basically done, I need to do something to wake up the GTS !

Here's a few photos, to add to the mix.

Jim & Dennis:

When you pull out the fuse panel on Dennis's car later today (I hope I can come over but I'm getting stern looks from the better half), look at the EZK too. I mounted what I think is the diagnostic plug on the EZK baseplate. I think the coding plug should go there instead, giving us better access to the diagnostic plug. You probably have to pull the EZK and LH to get the panel seated properly after you locate the short. As I mentioned, there should be some mount pins on the bottom that mate up with brackets on the floor. I didn't see them when I mounted the fuse panel.

When we were chasing you guys up the hill going back into the park, Charley grounded pretty hard right as you were going past a lookout parking lot. Low-rider!

What a great day. What a huge crowd I found when I finally found the location: two cars in the parking area....Nicole's and Bill's. I couldn't wait to thank Nicole for telling me about the alternate route up there and also for the added treat of meeting such friendly motorcycle drivers along the way (see next sentence). Of course I had my own kind of fun and spent much of the time before I arrived conversing with some of the nicest solo bike cops on the hill that day, and watching as they wrote EVERYONE passing by them on Grizzley Peak Road EXCEPT mtorcycles !! Wonder why they let all the bikes go and wrote virtually everyone else? Duh !! They would have written a nun in a Prius if she had been driving along that road yesterday. I estimate the city gained around $20,000 yesterday if 97% pay their fines, but of course not everyone will pay their fines, will they?? Finally, they backed off and took a much needed break from trying to make every driver a criminal and just chatted with me.

Well, what's happening next year Bill? And Nicole please keep your suggested routes to yourself next year. (only kidding of course. Hey I haven't had the pleasure of fraternizing with such "well intentioned" thugs for a long time. We had a grand time laughing and socializing while they tried to tell me how to find the Porsche group. Twice they were wrong and I returned to ask again. Then gave up and went to find you guys myself, all the while wondering why I would ever ask a traffic cop anything and expect a correct answer.)
