Kurt, What year HHR? The '06-'09's look like a pillar mount.

Where can you get the SSR (or HHR?) mirrors? What car are they from?

Default Chevy SSR

Sorry, these aren't mine... saw them in Hell. I believe the guy (sorry name escapes me) got them at a Chevy dealer. SSR is that hot rod pickup/convertible that didn’t sell well.

I'm guessing a few have made their way to a junk yard by now.

BRETT AINLEY asked:
"2, I am told that the Aeros have much worse visibility than the flags..."
Can someone tell me honestly if 2 is true ??? Preferably from someone who has either done the conversion or driven both ??

A local '89 GT to me has them installed, and while they look nicer than my '89's flags, there's no way I'd feel comfortable commuting with the aeros in heavy traffic. Driving with them the view is less than confidence inspiring changing lanes.. where a simple lean forward is enough with flags to check the blind spot, the aeros you're faster just to turn your head and look, and hope the guy in front doesn't brake unexpectedly.
The reason I like the flags is that a convex mirror can be fitted to both sides. Makes traffic much more comfortable.

Rear visibility is not a great feature of the 928. Of course, it's easy to stay in front and "Objects in the rear view mirror are losing."

I'm working on an S4 that has aero mirrors on it. The car shoud be ready by the end of the month. When I take it out for some shake down runs, I'll compare tham to my flags and report back. They look cool as hell, I can tell you that!

Another interesting alternative might be C4 mirrors:

Just a thought for those looking to modify mirrors. Following is a similar thread on the topic:

LOL, a simple mod more in my price range:

You can add the Chrysler Crossfire to the list of possible candidates.
