SCCA record ITE entries, plus 928 record entries
The entries are up! 33 ITE entries (44 overall for group 1) for the SCCA Laguna Grand finale weekend!
with a record (6) 928s regestered to race ( one 4.7 liter, three 5 liters and two 6.5 liter 928 racers)
oddly enough, the SuperUnlimied groupe seems to be lean of any slow cars. I wonder if the pushed them into the group 1 group. Mark and Joe will have their work cut out for them with a couple of monster vets, one transam vet ,and some nascar wannabe racers. so far 20 something cars signed up. should be more by race weekend.

its going to be tough for a top 10 finish in this crowd.
if joe and mark run what i think they will run, the vipers may put up a fight. (two of them, one with real big HP)
so, there is probably the top 4. then the usual guys running for the points battle, the VET, M3, camaro, griggs racing mustang, my 928, the S2000, and another very fast M3 will be duking it out for the top 11 spots. after that, Scot and the guest 928s from the frigid tundra of the great NW , including some 911s, will be right there i imagine.
kind of like speedGT for the top 4 spots vs Speed touring for the rest.

Well - the good news is - finally finished putting the engine back together tonight... flipped the switch and it cranked up immediately - sounds nice too! No more white smoke - a small bit of water in the oil pan that was residual, but I'll replace the oil again tomorrow - out for a test drive and all should be good..
I'll have to say - that was cutting everything a little too close for comfort!
And what's this - I didn't see any mention of a 4.7L being in the top 10... Just want to survive the sprints and save everything for the endurance..

that is great news!
That was close, but glad you got it back together.
When you driving or flying up?
Hey, Ill be lucky to make the top 10 at my home track! anyway, i knew you would be saving the car for the big event.
by the way, based on the enduro entries, we have a real good shot at the podium! its all about pit strategy, the car has to last, and no mistakes on the track! should be a great time.

We're leaving Seattle Wednesday morning so should be at the track Thursday - staying in Monterey. I figured we can use Thursday to get all the decals on the cars and get everything prepped, maybe practice a few driver changes and tires changes. Also - would be nice just to make sure that I tightened all the bolts..
I'll feel better after I get the car out for a test drive... finish burping the cooling system, check for leaks and simply make sure everything feels right. If all feels and looks good - another quick oil change and start on the comestics..
