Default The weak Dollar is killing me! (Price increases coming)

As you may know, many of my products are imported from other countries. They are either made in small quantities, or totally custom, with lots of manual labor involved. The margins are generallly rather small, but I try my best to keep the prices at an affordable level.

In recent weeks the US Dollar/Euro and US Dollar/Canadian Dollar exchange rates have strongly worked against me, to a point where I see no other choice but raise prices - in some cases by as much as 10%. This will be effective Monday, October 1, 2007.

If you have been thinking of ordering products, but have been procrastinating, you can still order at the old prices until Sunday evening.

Also, if you need any special order interior upgrade, I will honor the old price until Sunday night. You can send me a PM, or call me at 510 912 9290, if you have any questions or need a consultation on how to best upgrade your interior.

Thanks!

Higher prices + a great attitude = You're still a winner.

Tell your suppliers to lower their prices or sales will decrease dramatically.

A lower dollar means they can buy quality US products cheaper. It's a win-win situation for them if they respond in kind.

You can combine them with black housings, and use window tinting spray paint from the hobby store to darken them on the inside (so you keep the smooth finish on the outside). That'll make them very dark and nearly invisible when installed on your black car.

We've tried tinting the resin, but when we do this, the material sticks to the silicone molds like crazy and destroys them.

Thanks for the order!

Nicole,

Do you have your computer set to post threads at 9:28... I'm impressed!

BTW, are you going to Sharktoberfest this year? I thought I read somewhere that you may not come... you know it would'nt be the same without you!

It's highly unlikely I will be there this year. There are so many things going-on right now that I would not have time to prepare for and travel to the event - aside from my continuing sciatic nerve issues that don't allow me to drive the car for more than half an hour before I'm in terrible pain again.

Maybe I'll catch a last minute ride with someone. But I'm sure you guys can do just fine without me this year!

I do, however, hope to visit the Phonix/Scottsdale area again in 2008, and hope to get together with you guys then. I won't be staying at The Boulders then, though...

We may do fine, but it still won't be the same... you will be missed

And you are welcome to come visit anytime, just keep us posted as to when, you're always a big draw for a get together

Nicole: You may see an increase in business as now we Canadians can AFFORD "Made in the USA"

As for your sciatica- seriously consider chiropractic. I was nearly parylised from pain for DAYS at a time. I also could not drive from long time without triggering sciatica. I started a full chiro rehab program (cost me well over $10k over 2 years - contrary to the myth, not all medical services are free in this country) and I would do it again without batting an eye. I can even send before & after X-rays if you're doubtful.

Regards
Ken

Nicole,

You've touched on a situation that may well be the cause of the death of many 928s - imported part prices are becoming so high many owners will not be able to afford to keep them running.

Nicole,
Just placed my order for a hood liner. I keep putting this off and am getting tired of picking up old deteriorated bits and pieces from the original liner. Sorry to hear about your sciatica. It sounds like this has been bothering you for a while. I remember your post awhile back RE: pedals/seats.
