Thunderhill SCCA race video from supercharged S2000 in-car
major mess at the start, so the first 2 rows end up starting at the back, including me.(but i deserved it, i missed qualfiying, they didn't!)
Here is what a lightweight (2500lbs) car can do,with 300+ rwhp! (and he had a bent valve putting him down 20hp) Now, i think he is going to be a problem at Sears and maybe Laguna too!
i did feel down on power, also, see if you can see the smoke i was putting out.
oil overfill? hmmmmm
dyno next week!

Seriously though, please share your experience with racing in IT. What is racing in IT for highly modified cars like the S2000 like? I thought IT was very limiting on radical mods like that. I've always shyed away from building a car for IT because the rules are restrictive on engine mods, the general rules for IT say no supercharging. How are you guys doing that?
BTW, it is great that you can race cars like that and your future 6.5 928 without being hopelessly tossed into GT1.

ITE is probably the most compeitive class in SCCA club. we often have 4 cars or more within tenths of each other. everyone can have the lead at one time in the race, and it is pretty clean racing.(two of our times were within thousandths of a second of eachother!)
ITE is ANYTHING goes on DOT race rubber, as long as the chassis was sold from a dealer originally!
true sports car racing!
supercharged s2000s, 928s, camaros with built motors, speedgt vets, BMW M3s, mustangs, etc, all get to run together. I like to call it, ageless, poor-mans, speedGT/Touring! The absolute best of grass roots racing!

The S2000 with a S/C will be a problem......I just wonder how well that 8K+ rpm engine will hold up with boost? You can always hope it blows up!
But once you get your new motor, or an S/C......thats another story!

yep, same HP, good driver, and 400lbs less weight.
Points are high enough to still win the championship, if the ole holbert machine can hold it together! ( but i still need to beat the ZO6 more than he beats me for the last 6 races left)
new stroker will come just in time for next season!

Damm that S2000 moves now........your car did appear to be smoking more than the last time I saw it.....hopefully it will hold together for the rest of the season!
Watching his lines through 1.....a bit too far to the inside.....doesn't go out wide to narrow the turn....but he is turning good times......the car handles well, thats for sure! His front tires were fading badly in the end......too much rear wing or not enough splitter up front......something....maybe a loose or busted roll bar up front?

Seriously, though. We're probably gonna look to pick up something with less than 20K miles. And she wants red or yellow. She likes the flash. She thinks Fast and the Furious and drifting are cool. Already takin' about body kits, graphics, and (now that she saw that video) a supercharger. But there ain't no way she's gettin' one on a Honda before I get one on my S4.

As it is now, everytime I work on my car or order a part, the wife makes a comment like "why don't you sell your car and get a good one like a Honda or Nissan." Or "we should have just sold your car and kept my 240Z." The last thing she needs is more ammo like seeing a 928 get gobbled up by a S2000.
