Norcal Napa Fundrive report and photos!!!
Just got home from the Norcal Napa fun drive.....12 928's showed up...one of our best turnout so far.....Thanks to Bill for organizing everything!! The drive was great...nice weather (a touch hot but not bad in the afternoon)....smooth scenic roads....we did get stuck behind a couple morons on Harleys....then a moron in an RV and truck towing a boat...but once we were clear of them the pace was spirited and fun!! It was good to see everyone.....& I don't know what it is...but Bill RMB otherwise stock 928 just sounds SO mean....way better than my stock RMB.....its intoxicating driving behind him....only RichS & DennisK's cars sound better!! Good news is Sharky is running super smooth after the fuel pump change....much smoother on the throttle and WAY smoother at idle..it was a touch lumpy before
Enough talk..onto the pics!!

Brian: Thanks for the pics. The new Napa wine country route had a LOT of tight twisties. Despite the slowpokes, the traffic was rather light for a holiday weekend.
George: You and Dennis will not miss the next ride! Both of you should be running well again by then.

I miss living in that area. Great scenic views are everywhere. I would love to take a trip with a bunch of 928's and go through Northern CA. There are some great roads there in the trinity alps and through the redwood forests. As long as you can keep from hitting a sasquatch.
It looks like the car with the bra has some major issues with paint. If so, why the bra?

Once again, it was a great day. Thanks to Bill for the organizing. Enjoyed the twisties, even with the "moving chicanes"...and my navigators were the best..!

You guys with the S4/GT/GTS really made my OB work hard to keep up! I went through some rubber and pushing it hard in the turns to not be a slow poke.
Bill how does the snake fit?
Cheers,
Andre

I was just thinkling that if the paint is already toast, why bother with the bra. Thats all.

Well... today did not go anywhere close to planned. Joe and I got a slightly late start as I wanted to make sure the heater valve on "Bruce" was closed. I did not want us to be forced to run the A/C simply to keep the cabin at a decent temp with such a wonderful sunny yet mild summer day.
We got to Napa around 10:15 thinking we were late, but went to the wrong Target store (Trancas / Redwood), oops !
Thinking we were late we headed out 121 towards Lake Berryessa. Great twisties, but Joe (my son) got car sick as we motored along. Ugh... I felt real bad for him ! After getting him comforted, we took this picture on Wooden Valley Road.
What a great day for a drive. We feel bad that we missed you guys.

Yeah Bill. When Joe and I stopped, we looked up for Seagulls thinking that where ever they would be circling, there would be a Sharkfest !
No luck for us... good twisties though ;^)
