Does my car hate me?????
In the last two weeks:
1.Lower hatch lock lost white stuff rattles like crazy
2.Upper hatch lock cracks and even shimmed won't stay closed
3.Visor clips break
4.Check oil and dipstick breaks at o ring
5.Washer hose connection in hood fails
6.Hall sensor wire gets caught in belt I guess and trashes old amp connector and some wiring
7.One hall sensor allen bolt strips
8.Decide to remove pass. cover for better access,, one cover bolt breaks
9.Drop one cupwasher for the bolt and I'll be damned if I can find it
10.Not yet, but I'm not through with 1-9 yet sooooo.
I know it's 20 yrs old, but all at once?87S4

Just kidding. This is actually your cars passive aggressive way of getting you to spend more time with it.
I have my long list of items that need attention "when I have time". I just hope I can find time to address most of them before my car decides to have a major problem that forces the issue.

These things do run in streaks don't they?
Take a break and have a beer. I find that I end up causing more problems than I solve when things start piling up like that.
Sooner or later this stuff will be sorted out and it will just be PM and BWAAAAHH!
Hang in there man.

Well, After a good nights sleep, two cups of coffee and the judicious use of a cut off wheel on a dremel and assorted gripping tools, the hall sender allen screw and the cam cover bolt succumed to superior intelligence.
The weekend will go better now as I await parts for reassembly.

At least you didn't drive a hatch full of tools five hours to complete a job at your inlaws house and find out you were missing two jack stands. I have two, but needed four to keep the car level and to allow me to rotate the engine from below to drain the torque converter and RR the AT filter and fluid.
And here's a WTF moment-- why did Porsche engineers design a drain plug into a rotational design so we had to turn the crankshaft bolt to align the hole with gravity?
Your car hates you. All of our cars hate us. And we hate them right back. Right before we love them again. And then we hate them.

For future reference, in order to make cam cover bolt removal less problematic is there any advantage to having a warm motor vs. a cold one? Just curious if heat and possible expansion would make for easier removal. Yes, No or ???

Yes it hates you. I've come to get the same feeling form my car. I currently need:
1. Timing Belt
2. Water Pump (leaking like thats its job)
3. Front brake pads
4. All for rotors
5. Plug wires
And other things I'd just rather not worry about

Took a friend for a ride who has logged a lot of co-pilot time in my car(he has a 911 and a 944) and his first comment was how much smoother and stronger it was running. He even commented on how it sounded different as I turned the corner to his house to pick him up.
I had thought the same thing, but did not mention it to him so I would get his untarnished comments.
Other than 1-9, I did find the coil bracket ground wire on the drivers side broken and fixed it. Curious as to which of the items was the most responsible for the change.Hall, ground or dipstick seal?

Ditto LndShrk above -
TB/WP. At every step something would make me growl. Drop a bolt, drop a washer, hand slip off wrench into something sharp of course, install wrong bolt, install bracket before breacket that is supposed to be behind it is remembered, break off spark plug wire end in dist cap, crack open clutch slave line to install slave cylinder and now have to bleed entire clutch system...
NEXT!
If anyone has a #4 plug wire I can have I'd appreciate it. New set plans are several paychecks down the road.
