Even Joe would accept that the car hit the tree, and it wasn't the tree's fault.

As others have pointed out, he's a definitely not a newbie and he's a very friendly and generous owner too.

BLOODY TREES. I vote we get Bush and Blair to invade any country that harbours the bastards.

The French have already declared war on trees:

"The classic image of a French country road lined with a row of tall plane trees is under threat because of mounting claims that the trees are to blame for the country's high death rate on the roads."

Let's invade France. We could bring safety to their roads.

"That should buff right out...."

Had to be said, sorry it took 4 pages to get to it.

Lucky man....that is one scary looking impact. Makes the hit I took in my Toyota truck look downright gentle. Broken pelvis can't be fun, but it's much better than being dead. Hope the recovery goes well, and he is able to drive his other 928's in the future.

Whoa whoa... calm down. The only reason that I mentioned "barrel-rolling" was just to make the situation more extreme than it was when comparing a subaru to a porsche 928.

But really- a 2007 WRX STi is a much safer car than our 928s. I mean hell, it's MADE to be offroad and the engineers have to expect the car to plummet off a mountain in order to make it safe as can be.

sorrryyyy....

Dang tree hugging Global Warming fanatics are taking our 928s one by one lol.

That picture just makes me glad I live in Florida. Minus the fact I would hate to hit the pointy base of a palm tree on the driver side.

70 MPH in snow is not ok- unless you're on an Arctic Cat! MAYBE in an A8 Quattro with snow tires- That's about it. You may be able to keep your line, but any evasive/ emergency maneuver & you'll end up like (Elton) Joe. Wishing him a speedy & full recovery.

Well, I don't know where you live, but stay way from Wisconsin during a snow storm

In VA- / DC Suburbs- Home of the most neurotic drivers in the country! I learned how to drive in the snow , however after several seasons of Lake- Effect snow in Central NY.

And how many of them bother with the snow tire portion of it?

H,
A Subaru always looks worse than a 928.
