Oh I know just how easy it is to lose a Porsche 928. happens, in the right conditions. My question was for educational purposes only (my education).

I'd take a modern day Subaru in a roll personally. But 89 928 over an 89 Subaru for sure.

You make no sense. THIS CAR would have looked worse had IT barrel-rolled. Your point? You're the only one here who mentioned "barrel-rolling". Why did you add that, just so you could use it as a disclaimer later to deny you had said a Subaru would have held up worse? If so, what were you saying in your first post? "Yeah, a Subaru would have looked worse than this car, had a freight train run it over" ???????

I thought the same thing, SNOWY CONDITIONS and experienced driver at 70MPH very ODD.However it's easy to speculate, who knows what his facts/truth are; only he can say. I would cry about such a beauty being lost.

If you look in the first of my quotes Marcquito mentions rolling which is where I was confused. That is what I was asking about. Then I also made the comment that for cars of the same year I'd take the Porsche but with 18 years of technology growth I'd take the Subaru.
Since you had said that you agreed with Marcquito I thought that you might have known something about the car having rolled. That is all.

What prod. numbers and what build dates, it would be interesting to know since i know when mine was built and it does have these features and greg says he has 1 of the features on his 84.

I believe he span a couple of times before the tree got in the way. But he didn't think he lost much speed from 70mph in the process.

The door sill/unibody took the brunt of the energy in this crash. Notice the roof could almost be used as a sunroof delete donor.

ABS brakes were optional in '84-85 MY. PET lists non ABS version brake lines for '86 too. So it was very likely option for some markets in '86 also.
When looking PCNA or any other importer or even factory website for example its good to remember if they say something they are probably speaking of what they know and not for entire production model range for far away places. Porsche did '95 MY GTS without catalytic converters to Middle East for example even though some marketing material said years before that all Porsches have catalytic converters. Other good example is mention of Cayenne being first front engined water cooled Porsche in some of their web material.
We do have 100 kph speed limit in winter time in here. On certain conditions its safer to drive above that in snow with good real winter tire than it is to drive in heavy rain in summer. On certain -15 celcius and below conditions snow provides surprisingly good traction. Good winter tires for 928 means quality 225 wide studded rubber designed for cold climates (not central Europe, rubber used there is too hard and they don't allow studds anyway) on correct size wheels.
