Good luck Carl!!
For anyone unfamiliar with the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, watch the short film "Climb Dance" showing Ari Vatanen break the record in a 600 hp 4-wheel drive Peugeot. You can see what Carl is getting himself into.

On a practical note, what events are you going to run prior to ensure that the car is up to the task? There are two events at Road America that I know of before Pike's Peak, one in April with SpeedSeekers and one in May with PCA Chicago. If the car holds up at RA, you'll know you'll have a shot that it will too at Pike's Peak. If not, you're close to home and can do the inevitable debugging rather easily compared to wrenching in Colorado far from home with no garage and it's complete tool-set.

I am setting up my schedules now - and yes, the events at Road America are just 1 hour away for us
and especially appealing as far as shake-down and break-ins go.
The GWS hits the trailer this weekend (I hope) to go get its roll cage finished. I am having it done by Harold Furo at Furo RaceCraft www.furoracing.com I have seen his work and its absolutely top-shelf. I have a 4-point rollbar and it must be enhanced to 6 or 8 point with 3 horizontal door side bars on each side.
I grappled with the decision to make my own roll cage or not, and now that I have an appointment at Furo - I am glad I outsourced it. I can focus on other prepartaion, and leave bar bending and welding to guys that do it every day.

Project Update
The 2" mild steel 4-point roll bar is out, The 1.5" Chrome-Moly 8-point roll cage is in.
Note the rear shock tops are tied together and to the cage. Stiff!
Now we are getting the interior down to bare metal so we can paint the whole thing...

I just watched the Pike's Peak video that David posted. That is NUTS!!!
Nice dash too Carl!
There's no way I can make it out there, but I'll be looking forward to some video and the coverage of it.
Good luck.
