Me thinks there may be more offroading than originally intended by Carl?

I have a feeling it wasn't from Hertz. Heres some info on the driver.

When Leonard captured the Super Stock Truck/SUV classification, it gave him 13 victories, tying Bobby Unser for career victories. "

I figured as much. Same for the Chebby S-10. Carl is in with a diverse class. I had a Ford Lightning breathing down my neck at the last open road race.

Looks like he's steadily improving with each run.

I recall seeing a focus piece during a past Pike's Peak on a white Explorer - 2door that is completely stripped. He was top in class and really fast. When I first saw it I thought "an Explorer?", and then saw how fast and smooth he was through the corners. High dollar machine and he had many trophies to back it.

Go Carl !!!!

2005 Ford Explorer over a minute and a half faster than Carls machine....hard to believe...it must be a custom 4wd desert racing type truck with a monster V8 in it?

Not really....those race rigs are SICK.....super pumped up turbo diesels with STUPID power......1000+hp and more than 2000+torque...or more I would guess, since i don't know for sure....I would imagine a boosted diesel would be better at high altitude than any gas motor....boost + diesels better power density has to help!

The guy behind the wheel is worth a LOT. He is one of the PPIHC gurus.

One of the photographers has some stuff up and Carl can be seen.

Pages 1 and 5 have shots. I didn't dig too far
