Hi Nick,

Just the price the pan and the pressure feed line fitting for the factory pump (pictured in gold in the pic above). I can get a Weaver or Barnes pump here quite cheaply...

Thanks,

We have extra pans around in here including some which have holes made by conrod and are perfect for this kind of thing. Its mailing to and from UK that is real problem. Might have one slow solution to it though.

If pump will fit above AC where air pump is normally its even better.

How about using crank scraper together with that pan. Any problems?

Nicely done appears to be two stage scavenge pump and using the stock oil pump for pressure as has been done by others including Mark Anderson works quite well unless you go "offroading" like Don H. and rip of an oil line but rejoin the chase , The RED MIST of racing ! The added rear sump allows the oil to get away from the crank rods and of course the pump drains out the oil and probably much of the blowby vapors as well. Good job GOOD PRICE !

erkka, i agree that the pump could be placed where the airpump sits rather than where the aircon compressor goes but im not sure how the drive for the oil pump will be accomodated. the pump needs a 3/4" wide belt to drive it and looking at the pics i think this has been achieved through deleting the aircon pump - so this might be another hurdle to be overcome. speaking with neil at pace he is really keen to get a more complete engine in next time with ancillaries attached - i think so he can see what can be done in terms of keeping the aircon - i will be finding this out when we proceed.

Looks awesome Nick.

Where is the holding tank mounted in the GTS racer?

Probably not your market, but if its possible to make this streetable (discreet mounting of holding tank and A/C is retained) I'd definitely be interested.

Would it be possible to get inside shots of the pan? Is there any design work done to the interior of the pan to control windage? It's looks like you've addressed potential pressure-loss problems in high G turns, but it looks like there is still enough volume in the pan that additional windage control will be needed?

adam, i believe that any additional windage can be accomodated by spinning the pump faster to suck more from the sump. i dont know if pace have anything more elaborate other than simple baffles to control oil flow inside the pan and unfortunately i dont have any pics of the inside. i think its understandable that pace might be a little reluctant to show off what exactly they have done to the inside of the pan, but as alex points out the racecar that is currently running this system seems to be doing ok. im not sure where the oil tank was mounted in the GTS racer but it might have been in the passenger footwell, personaly im opting for the rear seat. as for retaining the aircon, i can see that this will extend the market for pace so im sure they will be interested in seeing what they can do once we bring them an engine.. i hope they give us early adopters a significant discount with all this free promotion!

Couldn't you put a plate across the pan, converting it into a (6?)L reservoir, ala Cayenne?

Its on other side. Engine is upside down in the pics. They are from UK after all, you know. Alternator uses front end of crank pulley anyway. Only question is is it moved forward by new pulley used to run oil pump.

Okay I dunno if anyone has covered this or not.... Now that a dry sump conversion kit has been invented, where in God's name is the oil tank to feed that monster going to be located at???

Erkka I don't see it. The pump is using the pulley for the alternator, isn't it?

The pump uses it's own drive cog. The stock bell drives the alternator and PS pump. They just need to be spaced forward by 3/4" to 1"

They have removed one of three V belt pulleys, the large rearmost one which runs AC compressor. Is that enough to make room for oil pump pulley so that other three remain in same front back position is the question. They stay close but might be slightly offline.
