Spoke with previous owner last week and found out that my L999 actually is Arena Red which had been painted as some kind of prototype a year before it was available stock. This was also somehow to explain why it was fitted with US-bumper even though OO was from Stuttgart and why it didn't found its way out on the streets until 1991. The interior is Linen which I believe also wasn't avalable stock in 1990 and later cars (and it's full leather dash etc.).
This is my favorite color. Same as Ricardo Pires of Lisbon.
The color is noble.
Would be quite a thing to see an Arena, Velvet and Zyclamrot parked together. Think I'm still hooked on the Z. Wonder what production numbers might have been.
If I'm not mistaken, the Zyclamrot car is a BMW color that was specially ordered by the original owner. It's one of one. I've seen it several times in person and it is an absolutely gorgeous color. I liken it to a nice cabernet wine.
Here's another picture of the lineup at 3rd Coast:

I am quite sure that the red GT I looked at last Summer for sale in Northern Germany was also this Zycalmrot. You're right Jarod, it's an interesting color that does somehow resemble a Carbernet!
I have been trying to figure out what color this is?
I have been trying to figure out what color this is? the owner said it was updated 15 years with porsche paint that is went with an s4 he also said it was something metallic but couldnt remeber.
Re paint and paint colors, my dad liked to tell this story.
He ordered a 928s that was delivered in '82. Dad went to the factory while his car was being build and he got to spend some time with it on the production line and got to speak with the guy painting the cars just before his went into the booth.
His color choice was a dark metallic blue. The painter mentioned that this color usually have a certain (I can't remember what) color undercoat but he always wondered what it would look like on a brown undercoat.
So dad said do it!
So although the paint code was standard, how it was applied was different and most likely unique.
I think my colour is also very very rare at a 928, specially at a GTS, i admire the first owner (a lady) for her courage in the color selection.
It´s a 92´GTS in tahoeblue (Code L 37C), Interieur: full leather "light grey" and carpets are "classic grey"
Good ride!
Great color. I like the wheels. They are similar to the speedlines but clean looks great on your car. I am assuming they are 18's. I came in second at a concours years ago to gorgeous Tahoe blue S4 with blue interior. He got me on added points for driving farther to the event. Not a color you see too often on any Porsche.
I came across this gem the other day as well. It was for sale back in 2005 or so for $72k but never moved finally sold by MW to a local owner. Great color on these cars. Wimbledon green with custom green interior leather and red piping.

My 79 is kind of a "What Can Brown Do for You" Brown, and that color may have been mentioned. I also have the 82 that is Bamboo Beige with a dark brown interior. That color has also been previously mentioned and shown. Still, I think it is pretty rare.
I also have an 81 Euro that I think is Indiana Red Metallic. I don't know how or why I decided on the name of the color, but I recall doing quite a bit of research on it. It doesn't have the color tag on the door jam any more. It is repainted, but it looks like the same color as the original in places where I can see both. I have never heard this color mention here before. Here are a couple of pictures of the color.
You know what color I'd like to see again? Caramel Beige (L499) from 87/88 ... over the years, I've only seen this one example, on an EBay auction long ago. It was a weird combination with a light gray interior (I'd have spec'd a dark interior color like mahogany brown, or maybe black). Wondering ever since if any others like this are out there ...
