Today marks one year I have owned my 928. It has been a fun and at times frustrating year. Thanks to all the rennlisters that have helped me out this past year. I look forward to many more to come.

This reminds me I need to re-up my rennlist membership.

Congrats, SteveB.

Hey, it looks like a Sunday tech session is shaping up. One car with high NO (failed smog) to examine for cause. Another with an engine noise to diagnose. Matt, we need to figure out your warm hard start. Steve, what about you?

Anyway, tech session starts around 11.

Steve,

Congrats on your first anniversary, I think the proper gift for a 928 is something made of leather, perhaps from one of our illustrious sponsors?

Bill,

I got a bad reading on the 02 sensor the other day while looking for my emissions issues. I've got a new one and I'm putting it in tonight. If that doesn't work, I may have to join your tech session on Sunday. Would you mind a little company?

Congrats. I can't imagine what life would be like without the 928.

That can be a cause of high NO if it is causing you to run lean. If HC and CO are low, lean is a good bet. Air leaks in the intake and/or exhaust would do this too. Overly advanced timing, but we don't have that issue on later cars.

He he, Mike, you're gonna have a long trip to make that tech session! Better hit the road today!!

By the way, don't be too jealous, but the new 5 speed passed inspection for a regular car this morning, so I don't have to think about collectors' plates for at least another two years! Yayyy!!!

Leslie,

CRAP! and congrats. I'm still messing with mine, I'm 0 for three so far and I've only got until Friday to be legal.

I was thinking Bill would be online during or after the session, maybe not.

Steve, sorry for the hijack. I hope I'm not still working on getting through inspection on my first anniversary!!! How about a short list of the 'issues' or upgrades you've wrestled with this year? I think that would be a good thing for us newbies to check out.

Steve, ditto on apologies for the hijack.

Soooo...what ARE you going to get the lovely lady for your one year anniversary? Something shiny and sparkly, I hope? Perhaps a diamond encrusted steering wheel??

Hey Mike, don't feel bad...our fourteen days expired almost fourteen days ago, and we were riding around with NO sticker all this time, and biting our nails hoping no one noticed us. But it took that long to figure out what the issues were, then get the parts here, then get some decent weather for long enough to do the jobs. In between all of that, Kevin had to do a bunch of stuff, including a timing chain job, on my Durango, and plus we also stripped the interior out of Pandora's Box (his) and replaced the carpeting and front seats, so I guess he's forgiven for taking so long. Sort of. LOL.

It's too bad you're so far away, he might have been able to help you figure this out a little quicker. Hang in there!

Well, I would loved to have driven the shark today, but I have a flat (damn construction at work ). So, I guess the one year gift will be new rear tires.
