Any OBs with working Vacuum Door Locks?
I am in the middle of replacing my CIS vacuum lines and my mind started to drift to all of the other vacuum lines. So far (and I probably just jinxed it) my cruise and vent actuators work ok, but the vacuum door locks have been DOA since I bought the car. Anybody ever rehab these? Where would I begin?

The door lock motors and brackets are on ebay all the time. A simple wire and some relays wouls work wonders.

Mine work.
Not much rehab needed during my restore. The passanger door would unlock with vacuum, but would not lock. A quick rehab of the passanger door actuator fixed the problem.
Most of vacuum line is hard plastic with flexible hose only at the actuators and at the door hinges. Since its in a controled environment not subject to engine heat I would not suspect bad line first.
I would start by removing the door panels and observe the locks to see exactly what is going on. You may have a simple mechanical issue -- the actuator arm may have detached from the door lock mechanism. In other words your actuators may work but they may not be connected to the lock mechanicals.

Mine worked for a while. Something got bumped or bent when I had the lock cylinders out for re-keying though and the passenger lock sometimes sticks. It's on my to-do list, whenever I have my garage put together and begin to catch up on such low-priority projects.

Mine work. Or they did work beautifully. Then one day the red button on the dash died. I don't want to take the time to dive into it, but I used it all the time when I drove into the city (S.F.) and all the goofy people came up to the car. Maybe I'll get to this next decade.
The fact is I was locked out of the car once while it was running. I shut the door and it locked both doors !! Now I carry two keys so I always have a spare.

Mine ('79) worked perfectly when I got it, but after getting it back from the mechanic in September the passenger side is not right. It will unlock from the driver's side, but not lock. Actually, you can see the **** try to go down, but doesn't quite make it.

I'll probably take a closer look at them this winter after I finish the CIS vacuum lines and the heater valve/hoses. This is my first winter with my own garage, so I'm hoping to spend some quality time with the old girl...

Try some graphite and then work the key back and forth. Mine was like that, and I had to push the **** down on the inside before I closed the door to lock the car. It had resistance and the keys would not always work. Graphite once every 6 months seems to work for me.
