Just curious, but after removing the interior and adding a roll cage, how much of a weight savings is there?

We did not put everything we removed on the scale. But I can asure you that it's easy to remove more than the weight of the roll cage.
Removing everything without instaling a cage could be lighter but then you have a safty issue.

Here is one from Shermany - note how they made it go around the dash:

It seems this one is more for show than for true racing functionality - it might provide good rollover protection, but makes functional compromises elsewhere.

my first roll cage weighed about 95lbs, my current cage weighs about 85lbs

for an more bars , you have to add the weight of the bars, each one is near 8lbs average.

mmk

Yes Nichol that is a show cage and very, very dangerous with no padding and especially no helmet ! The bolt in diagonal greatly compromises any strength it is for looks only which is why they made it visible from the side by moving the hoop so far forward !

I'm in the middle of fitting a cage right now and can't thank everyone enough who's posted pics here, they've been a great help planning it all out.
Here are some mounting plates that are about to get welded in:

Interesting floor cross brace and seat mount ! I tend to prefer cutting the iner door panel and pushing the side bars out farther but I need the room.

If the rules allow it adding tabs gussets to tie the tubes to the body, shell A-pillar, B pillar, door threshold can greatly stiffen the chassis and the cage with a nominal increase in weight.
