I LOVE that polished look! Is there anyone out there who is polishing the spiders these days? I have a spare one I would LOVE to get polished and then put on my '81... that just looks AWESOME!

What treatment did you do on your air filter housing?
Is that chrome plating over plastic? Or just really bright silver powdercoating? It looks awesome...

Back in the old days (~2000 on the email list), Dave Shaeffer of Titusville, FL did this work. However, he had serious health problems and dropped off the radar shortly thereafter. I don't know of anyone else.

EDIT: Found Dave's old website/email/phone number. Don't know if they work or not. http://members.rennlist.com/mechanic/index.html DR at 928 Specialists might know more.

Like Bill Ball, I raise my hood after any outing, not closing it until the engine is cool. I don't know how much it helps, but certainly doesn't hurt. Here's my stock GT:

Default Here it is

Just after the drive to Porsche Parade in Charlotte. Stayed somewhat clean, as always a work in progress.

I chatted w/ Dave slightly after his health problems and his son was doing some of the work... didn't have the money or the time to deal w/ it right then so never got anything sent off... would like to do that sometime sooner rather than later though...

Thanks for the contact info... I certainly don't have it anymore.

See, that kind of supercharger setup could almost pass a visual smog inspection as stock. Because all the parts look the same color, and they are not bright yellow or red or anything... That looks really nice!

That's my baby, my first hobby car and most definately not my last. This is as I bought it with just a quick wipe over with a damp cloth for it's first photo session
