Would we all get a mention as sponsors? That would be cool to show my lad when he grows up that I sposored a porsche race car - small sticker with the sponsers name on the hood perhaps? If yes, count me in! As for getting the old motor....... shipping might be fun to the UK! I'd settle for a piston and rod.

I'm in -- but one question for Mark: Won't you miss being able to brag about how it's just stripped, with shocks tires & headers?

Paypal sent. Hey Mark, if you have any extra money from this, how about buying a set of decent tires!

Hey, any left-overs is my cut........

Just kidding

EDIT - ok, just checked the account - John, your payment is there with a $3.20 fee. So that is the expense, just so you all know.

If anyone has any suggestions for money collection I'm all ears. This is the only easy - safe (for everyone donating) that I know of.

But with a big motor his gearing will be all wrong and the torque will often exceed the horsepower

Do you have any idea where he could find a different transmission?

To add some momentum to this idea, how about also letting rennlisters with companies to donate to Mark's car for "advertising" exepenses. I would be happy with something like a small part of the underhood or car saying "Warren Klopsch at PHOENIX RISING GLOBAL ARTS.com.

I could do same by making a business contribution rather than personal.............perhaps add my web site link to Marks as a contributing friend?

You guys are incredible!!!

Im just amazed of the level of enthusiasm here. Im speechless! (not!)

So, my story will have to change a little. " Bone stock engine, except for it being puched out 10% over the stock GTS engine???"

Maybe something along the line of, all this incredible performance for the cost of the $7500 stroker kit.

I think the series it would have to run in would still be ITE, but it would have to be brought to the national regional champioinships at Road Atlanta!

Other than that, its not going to beat Anderson or Fan with their 50-75 extra HP, but I bet it could be a lot faster than many of the big buck teams showing up in the SCCA races, as well as some NASA/PRC events.

I think the key thing would be to get Grass Roots Racing magazine and maybe my friends at Sports Car Revolution to do a follow up story. Its pretty cool to think the car has run on 70+ race days over a 5 year period, alwasy being driven to and fronm the track. Even the Road America event, i had to drive the self contained racing/team/support machine 500miles to LA to catch the transport to Road America. Then, fly to LA to pick up and drive the car home again. (on the "B" set of racing tires too!)

Thanks again everyone! If we can pull this off, i will be amazed! And if we do, of course this can be the rolling bill-board for the group. (inside and out)

Im starting the ball rolling with writing to the magazines again!

Mike.."$3 ain't completely horrible per transaction... but it sure adds up. I wish I had thought of paypal first..." Paypal at one point was in the red about $10 MILLION dollars per month ! the trick was not inventing it BUT staying alive long enough to sell it !

For $7500 that would be $225. I think checks would be a better idea. The checks or postal money orders could be sent to Tim (as payments towards the motor he's selling) then if there is not enough money or Mark changes his mind, the checks could just be shredded and money orders returned.

As Jim mentioned, Mark no longer races in Speed GT, but now he is in SCCA ITE.
