" Well its’ rather simple. 928 were all N/A and because of this, it takes a lot more effort to boost it let alone run high PSIs through them. Unlike all the other turbo Porches, the 928 doesn’t have forged pistons, adequate crank venting system for boost or positive pressure sensitive ignition & fuel control system. If you would take a regular 944 and try to boost it, you’ll come up with the exact same problems but with only half the HP."
If that statement represents the level of knowlege in that forum I understand why nobody makes significant power with 928s. Of corse you will come up with a lot higher numbers if you do it properly. Nobody said it would be cheap. One of the important things to make any power is good engine breathing. It is even more important on NA engines and this is why NA engines respond a lot better to turbocharging than already turboed engine do to upgrades.
Good examples are the BMW M motors, Hondas or also some Nissans. Those engines are already good NA engines with high specific power output and are even better when charged. That you have to lower the compression ratio and to upgrade engine management lies in the nature of things. I also needed to upgrade engine management on my 951 which IS a turbo.
Regardless of converting a NA or a tuning a turbochaged engine the route is always the same:
-complete engine rebuild
-stronger pistons (+sleeving if necessary)
-checking, improving the valves
-turbocharger + pipework
-ECU
-enough fuel
It would be a major surprise if it would be different for a 928.

Funny guy. I'm 6'3 and 220. Love to meet you by the bike racks after school.
Anyways, the 928 was the flagship while it was in production, and the 944 was the entry model for the marque. Go debate that.

Since the average age of the 928 driver is 65+ anybody younger is considered a punk.

What are we arguing about here? All Porsches are nice cars, all in their own way. Once modifying is started they can be made fast enough to scare most people and how fast you want to go is very much related to the budget.
I don't understand people who says that one Porsche is better than the other, I personally can't think of any Porsche that I would be happy with in stock form - there are always improvements to make to fit it for the owners preferred way of use.
And I am no 928 hater, I have owned one and probably driven around 70 928's. Of all stock variations, I have driven SC'ed and stroked 928's and they are very nice. Still I prefer 951's as my personal choice, and there is no logical explanation. If I could I would own a stable of 928's as well as a track and a street 951.
