I’m working with Dave C (worf928) on Tb, wp, tensioner, intake refresh, fuel lines, hp ps lines, fluids 28 year major maintenance. We looked at both the necessity of powder coating and plating parts, but the engine intake and value covers and most plating is original and still looks good , so decision was not to do it. Dave gave me the to do to “clean up” all the parts!
Must say, plating still looks good after 28 years! It’s only original once!

Just finished up fuel dampers, regulator, oil dip stick, all look great again for 28 years. Cleaned up Tb covers, pulley, oil neck and water bridge...she’s going to look pretty when finished!

Fun Run in Suffolk
Took out the 88 (the only one) and did a fun run with the local chapter First Settlers Region. It ran very robust and got great gas mileage.

Yes.
You have to seal the fuel line and vacuum connections so that fluids can't enter the interiors. The sealing method needs to be impervious to the various chemicals involved, impervious to media used in vibratory polishing, and impervious to coming loose during polishing.
Because you didn't post a 928 picture, I'm forced to do this:
if so what prep is required. Do the holes need to be capped?

Bob, Dave, Bertrand and the other fastidious Keepers Of the Cadmium Society (acronym omitted)..
Awesome work!
I'm leaving mine "as is" for a bit until I learn the techniques involved in bringing the cad plating back to life in my engine compartments. Forgive my cars crustiness when we get together at PCNA in June.
