Speaking of Cassis Red...

Yesterday I had a tiny dent removed from the hood of the 6,3xx mile 87 S4 5-speed car. Now I can put that new factory hood liner in. Or, do I leave the crumbling original?

PDR is PFM.
New hood pad for the win.
NOTE the old foam dust will get into everything you don't want it in.
NOTE crumbly hood pads speak of poor maintenance protocols.
My yellow car is on its third

Speaking of PDR, do you think it would work on the door under the mirror? I discovered this dent when replacing the mirror seal

Mike,
I think a skilled PDR guy can work miracles. I think yours will come out and not be visible. Particularly since it is under the mirror. It all depends on IF the paint cracks, if it cracks all bets are off.

HA Ha. Just time and money! Pulled everything, cleaned the wheel wells and sprayed a quick coat of urethane color to freshen it up.

No. There is a reinforcement where the mirror is mounted. There's no way that can be fixed by a PDR. I've seen this twice now once on a 90 GT and more recently on an '89 5 speed. Not all that uncommon but there's no flipping way.

Usually a PDR guy will heat the area concerned to soften the paint just enough to avoid paintwork issues.

That's impressive. Apparently a big difference between aluminum and steel in the PDR process.
