I should be receiving the results from a pair of local modified ZO6 Corvette's using a G-Tech. Want to keep things apples/apples.
Pitch is set at 2.0 which is the default IIRC and rollout is 12in.

That would be cool to compare. Bring it on!

Yep. I try to hold RPMs at about 2k-3k for the launch then goose it on the actual launch and modulate to keep wheel spin down a bit. It's way tougher than it sounds. If I mash it, she dances off the rev limiter and I sit there in a blue cloud of smoke. Still fun though!

Yesterday I had a small window to make some runs with the new Gtech before a storm moved in. The first couple attempts I was on some crappy roads with a lot of bumps and dips which made it difficult to keep traction so I spent about 20 minutes driving around out in the country looking for some open road. I finally found a wide open spot on a highway that was paved with asphalt just last year. Stopped, hit the button, light started flashing and I stomped on it. The launch felt kind of slow but it wicked up quickly and when it shifted to second the tires left 2 long dark patches on the road but it didn't feel like I lost any traction at all. I was surprised at the results. I wonder if I would power brake the launch I could get my 60 ft times under 2 seconds and 0-60 under 4 seconds.

Egad! Nice!

I will be installing the IC this October and perhaps upping the boost to 6 and plan to join the 400 Club.

Murph...probably an old question but why is your car listed at 3900 pounds? I thought 928s ran about 3400.

Tim,
also is this on your stage 2 car, or you 'modified beyond stage 2' car? I see it says 87, but this is really just your stage 2 kit? any other mods? 4.15 0-60 is pretty freakin nice!!!

Tim
Thats a very good result for an 87 auto!! Nice 60ft time too....I got a 2.230 out of my stock 88 auto with only a touch of power braking

You guys should post here too!

Bill
You should try some runs with a G-tech......you can borrow my old "pro" model anytime! I bet your car is around high 4's 0-60 & high 12's low 13's 1/4 mile with its current setup!

Tim: Kind of the same question as zoltan944, but is that run from the '87 S4 A/T "wife's car" that you drove to SITM?

Tims cars:
1987 Auto - stock stage 2 Murf928 kit a.k.a "The Wife's Car" This is the car he drove to SITM 2006
1988 Stick - GTS transmission, not sure on all the mods - last dyno was in the ballpark of 550rwhp

Tim is in Door County (thumb portion of Wisconsin) no access to the internet. I'm not even sure they have running water and electricity up there.

If I manage to install a cig lighter in my 81 - I'll be adding some boosted 16V G-Tech results this week.

Good show, Tim!

4.1 is a fantastic number! I'm sure you can get it down to under 4. Today was the wife's birthday, so I couldn't do any runs.

It sure is fun to have a goal to shoot for.

HEY!!!! Wait just a darn second...

That 91S4 GTECH run in Tim's (post #92) post above is my old 91S4 (sold).

Amazing how data migrates. There needs to be a common place to put GTECH files for everyones referance.

I remember Jim R. posting a 3.9 second 0-60 time with his Murph stage 2 equipped GT, but I don't remember him mentioning a 1/4 mile result with it though.

id also love to see some g-tech runs in a 5-speed. Although tim's 5speed would be fun to see, its porlly not realistic for some others of us That is why i had interest in his run posted if its his stock stage 2 kit. For his #'s in stage 2 4.1 is very impressive!

Yep, ran a 3.96 last year 0-60 using an old type G-tech. My clutch was starting to slip in third, so I never ran a 1/4 with it. New kevlar clutch kit is holding well, and I am trying to get a couple guys to hit the drag track in NJ (atco or island ). Tim's A/T car is a stock stage 2, ran a 12.2 and has been pulled on by a stage 2 5 spd above 3rd. Maybe 11.9 is in the realm of possibility on street tires.

I think it's definately doable. Just need to turn up the boost!

I think next time I go for a run, I'm going to lower the tire pressure a bit to see if that has much affect. I definately would like to get into the 3 second club.
