Is this forum capable of having G-Tech files posted on it? It would be interesting to see some of the comparisons and virtual drag races between boosted cars, stock cars, before and after boost, etc.

Might be nice to post the weights and wind resistance(drag) for different years, wing , no wing, etc. These numbers need to be entered into the g-tech, and it would be nice for comapison if everyone was working from the same numbers.

Actually, the only thing you need to do for the 1/4 mile is to autolevel the G-tech. That's it. I did however, calibrate the tach, but it's not needed. If you want to use its HP/Torque curves, then you need to enter the weight. You are right in that drag plays a big factor in the outcome of the HP/TQ curves with the G-tech. The manual clearly states that you cannot compare the G-tech HP/TQ results with Dyno results. However, it probably works ok for tuning purposes. FYI, I used 3800 pounds.

I'm looking forward to getting mine. I orderd it two days ago and then this thread came up. Must be a sign. I actually need it for a cycling coaching test, but you know it will live in the 928.

That Gtech is just too cool. I just ordered one off ebay and should have it by the weekend.
I wonder how close the HP readings would be if you could enter in all the correct data. I have truck scale just down the road from me; think they will let me weigh my 928?
Is there a part in the program that you can plug in the drag coefficient of the car?

My friends modified ZO6 was within 5hp on the G-Tech compared to the RWHP on a DynoJet.

It wont be an equal comparison with Andrew's unless we know the exact downhill pitch of the road he was on

Its been a while but i cant recall if you can enter the drag coefficient on the GTECH or not?
I assume you would be able to as there would be no way they would be with in 5hp of another?
What year z06?

No drag coefficient input as it would depend on the wind and other issues. Now I have not dyno'd my car yet, but here's HP/TQ comparrison chart for my run this AM vs last night. Last night's run (in red) was set at 3600 pounds. This AM I set it at 3800. You can see the big difference. So weight has a huge impact on the final output.

One more note, The G-tech likes to grab 3rd gear for the HP/TQ curves. Ideally, you should short shift to 2nd and 3rd and then mash the pedal to get the best spread of RPM range for the HP/TQ curves. I'll try one tonight.

If it did allow you to enter something like that and you knew what the dyno numbers are you could just keep playing with the value until it matched. Maybe I'm dreaming though.

This is a screen shot of one of my runs and Andrews. The red horizontal line is 1320ft...(the 1/4 mi line)
the other chart is "G's"...i pull harder on the launch, but he pulls harder through the gears and down the 1/4. cool tool huh!!
#3 is RPMS. you can see the effect of the short gears in the GT.(open Kiborts can of worms here )
#4 is speed over time

Anyway...Pretty damn close. As usual it would be R/T, launch and driver skill in the end.
He trapps a speed though!
You have 12.4 in that car easily.

I need to hack down the 2.2 60ft time. I havent ran the GTECH on the car with my 295s yet, perhaps that will help?

Dang this thread is updating quickly!!

I bet your HP shows way higher with the 4150 lbs input.

Also, I would say that Andrew is putting out more HP than what shows. Maybe the weight number is one you could play with to get it to match a typical dyno pull.
