I don't think this is what John did. Chatting with Joel today (guy who built his motor, did all the mods) he guesstimated the weight. Seams like a pretty good guess.

Tony... post the speed one too. It'd be cool to see how you jump out in front and I slowly reel you in!

Hi All

I use my G-tech RR for all my testing...with NITROUS !

Can I email someone a gtech run for my S2 ...Its around the same as these in this thread...

BUT....Weight is EVERYTHING to a g-tech....you CANNOT guesstimate it...you HAVE to weigh you car plus driver and fuel etc.....mine with a FULL tank and me is 3703 lbs...

My 13.2 @108 mph run with a 4.8 0 to 60 also has my 11 stone son in car...which would have made the figures slightly worse...

All the best Brett

Only thing I beat the other 2 runs on was 0-60 ft lol...which isnt bad on 7 x 16 wheels

Must do better lol...watch this space......

This is great stuff guys. I use a Vericom meter at our bus company to test braking g-force. The vericom also has all the acceleration options as the G-tech as well as lateral g-force. But the Vericom is closer to $1000.00 bucks. I haven't tried it on my stock '83 but I will when it's road ready.

If the G-tech basis it's numbers on the weight of the car, the easiest place to get a weight slip is at your local scrap yard. Most of them have a scale big enough so you can drive on. Usually just cost a couple of bucks.

But this is needed only for the GTech to estimate the horsepower, correct?

Otherwise, 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc. is unaffected by the entered weight.

That GTech is really cool!

For you roadracers, here's a complete unit which does the above and then some for $900+:

It is a GREAT unit.

I should post that in the CGT vs Cobra thread in the CGT forum where a few seamed "insulted" anyone would put the CGT into the same catagory as a Cobra.

Hi

Im not quite sure of the answer to that....its not explained very well in there tech stuff...

But as I understand it....the 3 accelerometers inside the units...work out ALL figures from various inputs...I would assume that as they ASK you to input correct weight....its one that counts....unless anyone knows better ???

All the best Brett

The weight input into the G-Tech will only affect the horsepower and torque readings it gives. The weight has nothing to do with any of the time, distance, or speed readings. The RPM calibration will also only affect the horsepower and torque readings, and not the time, distance, or speed stuff. There is no provision to input aerodynamic drag, so if the weight is input correctly, and the RPMs are calibrated correctly, the horsepower and torque readings will be lower than those from a DynoJet.
