I'm glad it was a great event (as usual) but it sure sucked for me and Christine, since we weren't able to make it. The first time in 6 years that we've missed SITM, or back in the day SITH, when DR and Jeannie were still in ATL. We really missed seeing everyone. Oh well, hopefully nothing will interfere with next year.
Congrats on the S/C Andrew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got home to my computer...here's some i took.
The "self portrait" is taken on Chucks Paint!! Its was pretty windy in the AM when the cars were parked and what you see is pollen on the black paint. In your mind take that away and you can imagine what the paint REALLY looks like. Truely a stunning car!

Some more...
The bottom picture is one of the aspects of SITM that i love. The midnight wrenching This is Herr Kempf "The CIS King" tweeking on Scotts car at about 2am at DRs house. Andrew and I were done tearing his car down so we went up front to see what these guys were doing and to hopefully snag a ride home as we were carless at this point. It was cool, dark we were tired and were waiting around for this "tweeking" to get done. WAITING....and WAITING... It went on for what seemed like eternety as Andrew and i were beat. Jay then finally claimed "youve got a motor....youve got a motor" and with that thinngs at DRs house finaly wound down..at 2ish AM. I was aboslutely wiped out tired and hopped in Jays car for the ride home. Guys, NEVER turn down a ride with Jay at SITM WHAT A RIDE! If you drive with Jay and Scott, you dont need coffee to keep you awake! 2am in the morning an we were flying along the backroads (221) to the hotel. At the hotel we were met by more diehards still I was now frikn WIRED and there was no way i was going to sleep after that drive .....so I stayed up to have another with the guys left standing
Im in the process of uploading the video of the drive. I took it with my digi cam so it may not be theater quality and after viewing it, it really doesnt do the drive justice as far as speed and twistiness!
BTW..if you get pulled over at SITM, its becasue your with Andrew

I have to say, you guys on the east coast blow the west coast away when covering an event! The pics are awesome! You guys have so many beautiful cars!!!!!!!
I will make every effort to get out there next year. Seems like this is the event that simply cannot be missed!
Again, congrats to all. It looked like a sensational time!

Alright as some of you know I had a camera mount in my car and recorded a bunch of video of the drive.
I have it broken up into 4 different main parts:
- MD/VA drivers on our way down and Fridays run (35min)
- My drive from hotel to the park w/Beerfish (10min)
- Drive up to accident area - sorry everyone was slowing, thought it was a good place to change tapes. No I didn't get it on video for those that might be wondering. (35min)
- Drive after accident until I overheated my brakes. (30min)
I should be able to get the menus done tonight and start burning discs over the weekend for those who are interested. I have decided to not edit out the audio so you get to listen to what I was listening to. The dvd's should be playable in most standard DVD players. The menus are simple and the DVD is divided into about 30-40 chapters so you can hop to a specific place if you want.
Some of the chapter titles are:
- Does my *** bounce?
- Loop there it is
- Shaarks
- Tunnel at 9:28
- Bus at the corner
- Time to shake the cooler up
- That grass is too tall
That's it. I don't see being able to get anything mailed out till next week sometime and that's IF I can get the menus squared away tonight and tomorrow. I am guessing that most of you will just want the parkway and not the MD/VA guys and the drive from hotel but if you do let me know. I am still trying to figure out how to get it small enough to host somewhere but for now the DVD part is just about ready.
A couple sample clips can be found here:
- this is the 10 min hotel to park really compressed:
http://www.devansky.com/mike/Hotel_to_Park130.avi
It is 160mb so not for the faint of heart.
Here's another in closer to native resolution:

Did I mention that it is free? You wanna cover postage and it is on it's way. I can't cover the cost for everyone.

My favorite rennlist posting ever, I think! Some of those installs are definately more about go than show, which is good to see ! I'm still scratchin' tthose lottery tickets...HP/Tqgain from supercharging my Euro isn't where I need it yet...
