The Michigan gang (less Budd and Olson) had a rough go of things on the ride home. I-75N was closed due to an accident and cost us a few hours. The heat, insufferable traffic jams, and the waiting took it's toll on our humor. Dennis had to deal with his Weissach's barely operable clutch, and poor Big Dave succumbed to a scary rattle in the engine just south of Dayton.
The event was cool, with the real highlights for me being the multi-car drives. It's just so cool running with a group of sharks. The dinner run was a sonic feast as the cars rumbled off the mountainsides. The smells were potent too, with exhaust, rubber, and brake pads saturating the air. Watching Falkenberg's car "****-n-git" in the curves was awesome, even if it was out of sight in a matter of minutes!
It was great to meet everyone, and special thanks to deliriousga for the free motormounts (with hardware, if you can believe it!!) and to Ed MD for helping suss out my a/c problem in the rainy, chilly Best Western parking lot Friday night.
I racked up over 1500 miles, but I certainly have a much better sense of my car's capabilities, of which I am in awe.
Awesome cars, great people...the 928 cult is gonna be around for quite awhile. Thanks everyone.

Just got back from SITM, made a stop off in my office in Baltimore on way back to Allentown. Great time, thanks Jeannie and DR!!
Great to see old friends and make new ones. SITM grows every year and gets better each year. Ready to make my reservations for next year, maybe I'll get screwed by then!
All in all, put on alot of miles without a glitch, car ran great, too great... these cars just feel like they are crwaling at 90MPH, state trooper didn't agree, luckily only wrote up for 80 in 65.
Here are a couple of pics, others have already psoted some of the same.
First. alot of shark tail:
Tony really loves working on these things:
The big clean up under the old intake:
Finally, DR and Randall screwing Andrew's car:

I had a blast, great to see familiar faces and catch up on what's new.
Funny, I brought tools and spares, but only needed pieces of coat hanger twice for other cars: as an exhaust hanger and belly pan hanger. I'll bring a few coat hangers next time and a fuse/relay chart for all years of 928.
The 911s and boxsters that showed up were friends of mine, a couple in a 996tt made the trip home with me and Amy and helped drive Ernest's GT back to Boston. Those guys were 928 curious and thought our stuff was cool. They drive with a lead foot, and they do a "boxster summit" there every year.
The pilgrimmage to SITM......a must do for the 928 gods to smile on you.

After a lot of years of wishing I would have gone, to this year I made it.
It was well worth the trip. Put me down for next year. A very heart felt thank you to Dave, Jeannie, and to all. I had a great time and met a good bunch of people. Jeannie, get the order pad ready, I feel a parts rush about to begin. I gotta get the car off the garage floor.

I just had to post this one. After winning one of the door prize t-shirts, I made it a mission to get t-shirts for my other sons. Dennis (sueden) and Stan offered me theirs since Jeannie didn't have any shirts in stock. 3 of my 4 sons are sporting 928 gear (the 4th is 6 mos old).
Thanks again to DR and Jeannie for such a great event.![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
P.S. It ain't easy getting boys to smile nice for pictures.

The white looking stripe in the middle of the tire tread is the tire cord. Still holds air, even after the run to the restaurant, then to Dave & Jeannie's and finally back home Sunday. New tires (275/40-17 Michelin PS2) in the back of the car to be mounted in the morning.
Remaining photos are too large to upload. Need to figure something out to post them.

Thanks Dave, Jeannie and crew for an outstanding event! It was awesome to see all those sharks and the blood, sweat, and tears that goes into maintaining them! Paul's work is awe inspiring to see in person
I'm going to get my armrest cover done to start with!
The amount of time and money folks like DR, Murph, and Herr Klun have put into the development of go fast products amazes me!
It was good to see old friends and making new ones, and missed the one's who couldn't make it. This is a very special group indeed. It was great running with MD, VA, DE, and NY guys to and from SITM! Everyone should carry a spare fuel pump relay!!
Once again the 928 Owners Group came thru with tee shirts!
Good luck John or should I say Graham!!!! Germany won't be the same.
Counting down to next years event!
Cheers,
Glenn

What an awesome event!! Thanks to everyone at 928 Specialists for the hard work and dedication to our amazing cars.
It looks like we may have another one there next year as Brian (the guy who came to SITM with me) is already looking to give a shark a good home.
Hopefully I can talk the wife into coming up next year too.
It was great to meet all of the great people from rennlist and get to put a face with the screen name. You couldn't find a better group of guys to hang out with every night. I'm looking forward to next year (is it here yet????) and hopefully we'll see each other in October in Florida.
I'll try to post pics asap. Finally got some great pics of mine with fantastic backgrounds.

Big thanks to Dave and Jeannie for a memorable event.
Also a big thanks to all who voted for me in the concours. Taking second among 100 of the most beautiful cars in the world is an achievement I will treasure forever.
All the incredible comments and warm support I received from everyone on the work I showed, filled me with the drive I needed to keep going in this direction.
It was really nice meeting all of you in person.
Paul

Ross is NOT the youngest owner, anymore!
There was a girl there with her 87 Cassis Red (pink) 928 that her daddy bought her. 50k miles ont he clock. I think she said she was 17. Pretty cute too. As I started talking to her and telling her about rennlist, her dad quickly came up and interupted our purely platonic conversation. I guess if I had a 17 year-old daughter at one of these letch-filled events, I'd have jumped in too. Anyway, Ross is now officially de-throwned!
