Did DR hire Tony to do the SC installs? Tony will do it better than right.
As posted already, Tony volunteered many, many hours on Andrew's intake breakdown, the first stages of the SC install (before he had to catch his flight) and helping others with their problems. You’re a good man, Tony! Andrew was working alongside him the whole time as were many others that would pitch in throughout the day and a half of the breakdown/install.

Dave and Randal were there the whole time as well and started to take over on Sunday afternoon, through Sunday evening and then Dave and few of us were there until about 10:15pm when Andrew went for his first run. He was pretty happy, to say the least. Many people helped along the way and many were there for almost the whole install. Seeing almost the entire process, I can tell you that it really is not that difficult a project. Time consuming, yes, but if you can do an intake R&R, you can do a supercharger install. Dave's system is well thought-out, engineered, manufactured and tested. If not for a stubborn 02 sensor hole plug, bad MAF (big surprise, huh?) and pulse sensor connector mishap the install would have taken much less time.

The one thing that is really crucial in this whole system is the chips. By doing his own fuel mapping and EPROM burning, Dave has made this system much more simple than it would otherwise be if many things had to be controlled through mechanical means. With the right chips, this system uses close to stock fuel pressure and maintains the idle characteristics, driveability, and – presumably - the efficiency of a stock engine (at least when not on boost). It is very impressive. Well done, Dave!

As for the rest of the weekend, thanks to Dave and Jeanie for hosting such a great event and to the 928 OC for the shirts and even to PCNA for recognizing (is that the right word, Jeanie?) a 928 event and donating some prizes for the raffle along with the local dealership, Deal Motorcars of Ashville.

But most of all thanks to all of you who were so friendly, welcoming and generous to me. I flew down there alone for my first SITM (had to work Friday and was, therefore, without my S4), not having met any of you guys face-to-face and only having known some of you through this list or through phone calls. But you were all great to me and I appreciate it. If anyone is letting the fact that they do not personally know many 928 owners or may have to go to an event on their own – DO NOT LET THAT STOP YOU! Just go, whether to SITM, Sharktoberfest, Frenzy, 928 OC, or any of the other events. You will meet a ton of friendly, great people, place a lot of faces with rennlist names, learn a whole lot about 928s and make a bunch of friends. You might even get to finally meet in person, like I did, some Legends of the List, as I call them: DR, Jay Kempf, Capt. Earl, Tony, Tim Murphy, Rob Budd, Rixter, John Kuhn, Andrew “The Keeper of the Shrine” Olsen, John (JE928sx4), etc. It was also great to finally meet some of the other frequent posters: Michael (michaelathome), Matt (FlyingDog), John (Beerfish), Chaad (chaadster), John (deliriousga), Mark (“Slow traffic . . . “), Paul Champagne, Ernest(NYC), Drew, Mel, etc. Sorry if I left anyone out but I could not place (or remember) everyone’s actual name with their rennlist call sign – but thanks to you nonetheless!

P.S. Michael, thanks for posting the picture of my Pontiac G6 rental car!! (silver car all the way in the back of your 11th picture). Really, guys, I do have an S4, I swear!

But seriously, as many have said before, it is about the cars but it is really about the people. So true. Take care all.

Couldn't agree more! Saw a lot of friends I made at last year's SITM and made some new ones this year. I felt like Norm from the old Cheers television show...I'd introduce myself, and then say my Rennlist name...then I'd see they knew who I was..."Hey!! It's BIG DAVE!!

It was really great seeing everyone again!!

Oh, just a quick suggestion for next year...maybe our name cards should have the Rennlist screen name on them too.

Dave and Dave,

Rennlist names would help out tremendously. I was going to talk to John about possibly doing some kind of rennlist promotion/sponsorship/member drive at these types of events. I met many people this past weekend that do not post on this site and tried to encourage them to do so.

It was funny . . . I had many of these introduction moments: "Hi, I'm (insert real name #1 here)." "Oh, hi. I'm (insert real name #2 here). Nice to meet you." . . . Blank stare and silence . . . crickets chirping. Then "So, do you post on rennlist? You do?!?! Yeah, under what name? . . . "Oh, I KNOW YOU! You started that thread about . . . or you cracked me up when you posted . . . or did you read that thread about . . ." This forum really brings us together in ways you don't realize until you meet someone face-to-face and talk. We all have shared experiences, problems, laughs, etc. through this forum.

Thanks, John (if you are reading) for hosting such a great site!

I'm going to miss going to SITM every year. My favorite 928 event of them all. Thanks to DR, Jeannie and Thor. You've treated me more like family than a customer these last 6 years. I expect to see you all on the other side of the pond for at least one Euro 928. You have an open invitation, the guest room will be reserved. I'll try to make it back whenever possible!

Regards,
JE

I just got home a little while ago after a leisurely drive through Ohio. Had to put a Mustang Cobra in his place on those high speed twisties on I-77 in West Virginia yesterday. He thought he had something until he realized I was only be cautious but then opened it up around the last few curves. What a great ride! No wonder we drive hundreds of miles to gather and talk about these beasts.

Many thanks to DR and Jeannie for the hospitality and support of my endeavors and thanks to a great group of guys for one truly fine weekend.
