Sharks in the Park report & photos!!
I guess I'll be first to report!! Another great event....I counted 22 928's at one point but I think a couple more showed up later.....weather looked iffy for a while but held out for no rain (everyone knows how much I hate rain!).....getting to the park was entertaining....with my wonderful navigating the Stockton Sharks ended up in "Tour de Oakland"....that was a bit scary....
There were several very nice 928's present...I was glad to see more red 928's (besides Greg & I)....StevenB and one other 86.5 "S" doubled our guards red group from last year! The Koenig ultrawidebody was very nice....a well done conversion & it sure is W-I-D-E....(Tarek where are you...its for sale) 345 rear tires on 14" rims!
Thanks to Bill B for putting on another great event! Heres a couple pics (Sara managed to win a great picture from Devek!)

This was another great one. I love Sharks in the Park for its relaxed pace (except the fun ride) and casual asmosphere. The weather played along, and even though a few of our good friends could not make it, the turnout was pretty good.
Thanks, everybody, for coming!!!
Bill Ball finally got what he deserved: Thanks to Surgiblade's idea, we pooled together and got him a nice gift certificate. Now he can get new toys without getting in trouble at home...
The Stockton Shark Society was in full attendance again, and sported their own new T-Shirt style. A few lucky winners from outside of Stockton had the privilege to get some of these T-shirts, and now this unique group of shark fans is represented in Alameda and Contra Costa county, as well as Nevada.
I missed Brian's reaction to my new license plate cover - which says "I BRAKE FOR CROWN-VICS!"
Talk about braking: On the way home there was heavy traffic on the freeway around Oakland. When traffic stopped apruptly in front of me, I did not realize this quickly enough, slammed the brakes, but still bumped the car in front of me - first time in my driving career that I hit another car while driving. It wasn't a hard impace - no airbags or parts flying. Bill Swift was behind me. Fortunately, there was no visible dameage on the other car, and only a few surface scuffs on my bumper cover. The Chinese man in the car I hit was sooo nice - he kept saying "I don't see any damaga, so don't worry about it." and went on his merry way - and I was there shaking from shock. Not an experince I ever wanted to have, but fortunately there will be no lasting damage other than a bit of a scarred ego on my part.

Bummer about your bumper.....you'll have to bring it to Bill's and we'll do a polishing-waxing session to see if we can fix the scratches!!
I did see your license plate frame!! Very cool...not a bad idea either.....but I would rather have the V-1 for insurance!! If I wasn't a "Crown Victoria Police Interceptor" driver myself....I would have a V-1 (still might get one)
The S.S.S (Stockton Sharks Society) just got our shirts on Thursday....now we are represented in TWO states (thanks Jim) & we now have the SteveB (ex-seth) car too!!

But the way I know us hard core 928 enthusiasts - we would have had somewhat "juicier" hamburgers and just as much fun...
Does anybody have a picture of Bill's car with the shark fin???

Looks like it was a beautiful day . . . Wish I could have been there.
Mark & Scot did a great job representing 928's in the first ITE race at Thunderhill, finishing 2nd & 6th I believe. I left for home before their second race, which should have been interesting as rain was beginning to fall and they were running on virtual slicks.

Wait for me...
I was able to keep up with the 928s in the short twisty section of Tilden, but once you guys got to the big sweeping uphill sections of Bear Creek Road... no way.
I was peddling my Boxster as fast as I could, but you guys were losing me at a very quick rate. I also have to say also that I lost my nerve. The Boxster does not feel as stable at speed as the 928 does. It has more of a tendency to "dance" a bit at speed.
It was a very good event (as usual) and Bill, you deserve everything you get and all of the praise as well. Truely, you are a class act among the Porsche community and really help make the 928 owners stand out.
Thanks.
Rob (I promise to get mine ready by Devek Days)
