Murf SuperShark - Supercharged US-Spec 1981 completed - fun way to spend a weekend.
It all started yesterday morning, my friend Rick and I headed over to Tim Murphy's house to boost my 81. Rick followed in his red 84, sun was out, armed with donuts, all the signs of an awesome weekend were starting to show.
After some head scratching and prodding around (this was the first non-32 valve car for the Murf928 system). I have some excellent news, pictures speak louder than words:
Turned the key, fired right up and idled 100% normally. Right now we have a 5psi pulley on the car, once I have a few miles on the setup, we are going to upgrade to a 8-9 psi pulley.
First test drive was nothing short of incredible. What amazed me the most was how “normal” the car felt, except everything was happening a lot faster. The car keeps pulling, and pulling and pulling………all the way to 6k (once a tad bit over, got carried away).
I’m still in total shock about this setup. So simple, so clean, such a kick in the pants!

F-in-A Man - thats awesome. It would have been first if I hadn't sold the 4.5 I built for Tim's Kit for the 78. Thats pimpin awesome. That engine could handle enough air for 10-12psi I would say.

Awesome!
Powder coat the intercooler black, add some eyes, and you're set!

It looks like you have the BOV T-ed off ported vacuum; is this intentional?

That looks very nice Clean and simple looking.
How much modification was needed to make it fit? Looks very close to the early 32V system.

I don't see the valve, but I do see a vacuum hose T-ed off the distributor vacuum advance hose*, which goes towards the boost elbow. I assume the BOV is welded on below the elbow.
*'81 distributor hoses: pointed away from the distributor = ported/advance, towards = manifold/retard.
