Rick who?
I'm giong with the SS 85-86 manifolds. I've had a set sitting in my garage for over two years now. The SS Y-Collector Mark Anderson sold me will almost bolt right up to these (with Todd's help) so I'll stick with these. I really do not want to mess around with a complete custom exhaust right now. Sourcing out a CATless system is getting very hard around here. Some picky rules about EPA regulations....

I'm confused what you are offering here - I already have one installed. Unless you have the model with the built in static fuel pressure regulator with the BEGI FMU mounted on top?

Rick at MSDS, but I see your point.

It gets to a point where I just want to drive the car and stop working on it. The first 150hp gain was easy (bolt on blower, go) from here on out, any gains are small in comparison and more work = more down time for the car.

Eventually I'll have headers on this car - probably when I switch to a 5.0 bottom end.

I don't believe he's attempting to sell it to you...

And by the way: EXCELLENT numbers; well done!

HP, love those numbers. Sure am looking forward to the day when my 81 gets a little "boost". Way to go.

I brought a case to the dyno as a peace offering to the HP Gods - it worked. We celebrated many times.

Everyone needs boost!!

Erik, nice job getting the supercharger dialed in. Any chance you could help me get Carl's kit dialed in on my 84? I have it 80% complete. I am on 12 hours at work except for the 4th. hoping to finish it then.

Great numbers - an old(er) 928 that puts out more than most GTS 928s!! A great value to get such extra power.

Time to add S4 brembo brakes and a few other goodies?

H-P, you and Tim have probably already discussed this... Don't FMUs come in different ratios? If you are lean down low and rich up high, you could change to a lower ratio FMU. If you're using 10:1 (30psi baseline + 6psi x 10 = 90psi), go to 8:1 or 6:1. If that is adjustable on the unit you're using, nevermind.

With his clutch issues, I don't think he wants MSDS headers...

Do you still have my e-mail address? Lets chat, I'd be glad to help out.

The air / fuel is only a matter of time. At the dyno, we did not feel we would be able to dial it in perfect with what he had there, so we set it for "happiest" overall to protect the engine. Now its 100% full steam on house projects (months behind due to the car). So I can at least enjoy the car until I can re-visit the small issues. I know this is not ideal, but damn it, I just want to drive my car.

On my 79 I can pull the bell-housing off with the MSDS headers - without touching the headers. With the SS Y Mark Anderson sold me and the way it sounds right now - I'm happy with it.

It's awesome! People always like to say "for the extra money just buy an S4" - well I totally disagree. For how cheap you can find these cars and Carl's kit is very affordable you can have a 300rwhp car for under $12k (give or take). Lighter weight + more power than an S4. Combined with the early 2:73 transmissions makes for one hell of a ride.

I already have S brakes on this car so it does stop better than stock. For now this is fine.

Intercooler is a one off made for my car to fit where the factory air box goes. According to Tim - this will not fit on an S4 motor. I think the core size between the IC Tim sells and this one are the same. The long runners on the 16V prevented me from using his off the shelf IC.
