[inside conversation] Did you get the audio portion? Someone else I sent it to didn't get that part and thought I just sent the picture. I hope it didn't go out that way to everyone [/private conversation]

Well, I've seen fire shoot out of a tailpipe before. I've never seen a constant burn that looks like an F-14 afterburner. Thank God Rob was filming or we wouldn't know this was happening. This much raw fuel doesn't really show up on the air / fuel gauge. Next time I run on the dyno we are shutting the lights off, could be pretty cool

Needless to say the car is ok, I still have work to do. Nothing positive to report.

I'll post the video as soon as I have it uploaded.

EDIT - here is the video, just the good part

PLEASE - RIGHT CLICK & SAVE AS, OTHERWISE IT WILL TAKE A WHILE TO LOAD. I'm sharing this video from my server vs. Google Video to keep the quality as high as possible.

I think you should add more fuel.

Erik,

You sure you didn't sneak a 2008 Ford Super Duty Turbo diesel engine in your 928??

Anyway - it's 4AM on a Saturday morning. The end of yet another garage night at Casa De La Murphy (aka, home of Murf928.com).

I wanted to gap my plugs wider since my car was not a happy camper with a .020 plug gap with 2 range colder plugs when cold / cruising. Just to recap the tight plug gap was to "fix" an upper RPM ignition miss under higher boost.

Well, as Z and I went over the game plan for tonights project, he asked about my plug wires. I informed him I took a lot of time to route them with spacers, nice flowing curves etc.... keep the coil wire away from everything....you know, basic engine stuff I already knew but failed to execute when I installed the wires.

When I told Z my coil wire was going up and around at least three plug wires before (when the ignition was missing) he rolled his eyes and said I might have found the problem. I then told him my green wire was mixed up there somwhere as well......so needless to say I'm a dumbass. I'm only sharing this so everyone else out there realizes how important it is to route your plug wires in a neat and orderly fashion. This becomes VERY important at 15 psi. So last nights (or this morning?) multiple redline pulls to 15+ psi with zero missing up top (before it would kick in as early as 4,500rpm).

Now it's time to play with timing to get rid of the blow torch out the tail pipe. It's also still a bit lean up top....enough to get you nervous but not enough to keep your foot out of it

Hey Earnest - how long before my head gaskets blow?
