That was a very hard hit. Head through side glass! Argh! Somebody was looking out for you, at least after the accident.
Glad you are on the mend.
Awful to see such a PURDY car get beaten up.
Wishing a speedy, complete recovery for you.

If I ever get hassled by the cops driving my track car around town with "Non-DOT Belts" (FIA 6-point with an FIA seat) I should keep a pic of this wreck in my glove box.

Wow, this looke very scary! I'm glad you got out alive and able to tell the tale. I hope you did not it the metal spokes of your steering wheel with your head!!!
Is the color metallic or standard? There was a standard red in 1987 and 1988 that was a bit darker than the guards red. It was called "carmine red".
Hope you get adequate compensation from the insurance!

Hi Glenferd I'm happy to hear you are Ok . Don't let ICBC screw you around on the value of the car do some market research and present it to them. Make your case by showing them what it will actually cost you to replace your 928. They will try to offer you an unrealistically low value thats how they work.

Checkmate,
I'm with Bigs on the color.
The sHARk you mentioned is paired up with Brett R. and while it is Cassirot in color,
and is named 'Rosie', she is is definitely a different color altogether.
I've only seen 3 Cassirots', and the color is so unusual one never forgets to pair the color with the correct name. As opposed to the Reds and Burgundy's which, admittedly, can be confusing.

I'll probably burn for this one.
First, glad you are still mobile.
However, that phrase some folks are using; "the sHARk is replaceable" is not correct.
Both you and your sHARk a 'one of a kind'. In this case, there are optimistcally 6-10 more Euro's
on the planet configured and painted the same. As for condition, yours may have been the best overall ... in the whole wide world. I saw several of that color posted on the Renn over the years at those mega-frenzy's in Europe and none at all here with the exception of yours.
She was gorgeous! But, now she's gone like yesterday, and yes, IRREPLACEABLE.
When Zack lost his Great White 81' on loose gravel/road millings while passing a truck ( he eventually, got run over by the same truck - front left fender/hood, all the lights bumpercover and some serious frame distortion) we were both sick.
The P.O. -Snowball- had taken exceptional care of 'Snowy' so after a few days of despair we disassembled the front end for evaluation, inventoried my accumulated -from the Renn membership-
parts collection and getting estimates for out of house repairs we determined that WE could 'do it'.
Frame and chassis work came to $874.00, we had most of the repair parts in house so everything else was labor. With the exception of one phone-dial wheel, hood latch, 1 hood hinge, 1 used hood, and some sandpaper and paint for the bumper cover -about $250.00- it was all a labor of ...luv?
Let me know what the owner buy back is and perhaps with a year or two lay up she'll see the road again as a whole sHARk as opposed to a donor.
Sorry this had to happen.

John,
That's one helluva get well message But I agree. That color was knock out gorgeous and the interior complimented it beautifully. The color, whatever it is, is one of my top 2 or 3 colors.

Ok, one of the 928 suppliers needs to contract out a tube frame underbody to fix these wrecks. Yes it will be expensive, doesn't matter. These type of conversions have been available for some of the hot rods over the years to "fix" their rotting bodies. No reason why we cannot come up with something to "fix" these cars.

I'm glad you're okay. It's too bad to lose such a pretty car, but like everybody said your safety is the important thing.
