Spotted this, and found both my clips were gone! Must get hold of some of those locking clips from the auto shift myself. Thanks!

Bump for all the newbie 928 owners out there. I'd hate to see this happen to someone again.

Roger at 928sRus just posted This thread a few days ago that he's got these e-clips in stock if you need them...

Harbor Freight will have them too. Up here it’s called Pricness Auto and they sell these in a box of 300, for under $10CDN. It had the one to fit the 928 light armature too.

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...temnumber=4300

Looks like it’s only $7.99

It's crap like this that makes me roll my eyes whenever anyone mentions anything about the wonderful 'German engineering'. Let's face it, there's stupidity in every vehicle design, no matter where it's made. If any of us 'shade tree' mechanics can tell this was a poor choice of design, surely the geniuses at Porsche could figure it out? I replaced both missing clips yesterday; thinking of drilling and putting in a cotter pin or something.

another bump. I did not know I was missing one of these clips until Stylemobile showed it to me at this year's Sharks at the Beach.

Cheers!

No cotter pin needed. Use the Auto transmission linkage clips. They lock on and won't come off... No-Brainer here...
