New Product: Engine Support Bar

I have had a couple emails from 'listers of this engine support bar for a lot less than our listing.
I'm sort of mad at my supplier.... we paid more than $130 for ours!
I will check these others out. Thank you for showing them to me. In the meantime, I have taken ours down until I get this straightened out.
My supplier has to get in-line, or I'll find another supplier for you.

Phew!
It's only 38" max long. (My liftbar is 56".)

I wanted to have something in stock for my customers so I could offer "motor mounts and the engine support bar" all in one place for them as a convenience... I still think that will be a nice feature for them, but not at that price.
You can see my markup on this, I paid $130 and was retailing it for $156. Bottom line: I paid too much.
With a little hunting around, I should be able to make it available for $58 or so... we'll try.
Please rememeber it costs money to inventory items (its an investment of free capital that now can no longer be used) - and it costs double shipping too (I have to pay shipping from them to me, and then again from me to you). These are the 2 factors that makes the mark-up neccesary. (Those of you in Retail already know this).
Anyway - because of the links you guys sent me, I am sure I can bring that price down and more into line.

Carl, I'm sure nobody begrudges you a fair markup. You were misled by a supplier -- it happens. You have just benefitted from the rennlist community knowledge, and it's a good thing: now you can stock the quantity of lift bars you wanted, and have more free capital to develop and stock the next cool product you come up with!

Carl,
Keep up the good work! I appreciate your efforts to make DIY Shark ownership easier and fill in gaps of other suppliers. They may not all work out, but I respect the way you've dealt with this "clunker". I think Members appreciate and understand that "honesty is the best policy" and you demonstrate that. We all have to make a living, so I certainly understand and don't begrudge you and other Site Sponsor's from having a profit. Simple economics dictates Sponsors must make a profit, or you will be out of business and then what do we do. I expect you'll be getting some of my business in the future.

Thanks for the reply Carl. Check your supplier's house - if there is a porsche in the driveway - you are paying him too much. Thats the way Walmart became a 256B dollar company. They squeeze thier suppliers and strictly control the structure of distribution.

It doesn't seem to me that paying an extra $65 to support a dedicated, 928 parts supplier AND site sponsor is too much of a burden. It's money well spent, the way I see it. The real misfortune is that Carl is not able to see that money, and that it instead is going to his supplier. If guys like Carl can make some money, they'll spend some money to help us keep the cars on the road and support our community, just as they're doing now. Do you think etools.com or whomever Sterling linked to gives a **** about us, the 928, or Rennlist? Believe me, I'm not judging anyone who wants to save some dollars; I know how tight it can get financially, yet with whom we spend our money is an issue that deserves some consideration.
Anyway Carl, hopefully you can bring down the price and still pocket some profit. I haven't bought anything from you (yet), but thanks for your efforts!

Thanks to you all for your very nice comments.
This is a working relationship - you and your suppliers - and it works because we all make it work.
I'm in this for the long-haul, no one sale is worth the damage it could cause to future sales.
I'll have this sorted out within a week, I figure.
