If you replace the fancy relay for the rear wiper (behind the tool panel) with a plain horn relay, you get one wipe with one push, or wiping as long as the button down is pushed.

Did you know that some UK market S4s have the pod instrument lights on permanently?
(or is mine broken?)

Did you know that although S4s (don't know which years) all have the holes for 3 point rear belts, the cars not fitted with 3 point belts from the factory don't have key strengthening in the C pillar, so you shouldn't retrofit 3 point belts?

Hey, I think thats a neat "Did you know" from Porken. If I had a rear wiper on my cars, I would certainly do the mod.

DID YOU KNOW...the 928 was designed and intended from the beginning, to be 3 inches wider? The reason it was made 3 " narrower, was because of the rail transport cars, not being able to accommadate it's width. The 3 " was taken out of the very center of the car from front to rear, inside and out.

Speaking of Width...though it seems visually much wider, the GTS only has a 1" flare over each rear wheel. Pretty amazing what 2" whole inches will do for the looks of a 928...imagine if it still had it's inititially intended 3" with the 1" flares??? 5"!!!

Did you know that is the only place on the exterior where 928 is displayed?

BTW, 928 is embossed into the brake pedal pad too!

1994+ also had the intensive washer deleted and pollen filter for HVAC added.

These actually happened with the introduction of the US 1993 model...I can prove it

Did you know the ports on the 944S head are larger than the 928S4 head?

Did you know that a black 928 that was very well done by the paint shop and was originally brown is capable of nearly giving its unsuspecting owner a heart attack when he removes some trim and finds the brown paint underneath?

Did you know the PET indicates two plates behind the cam gears for triggering the Hall sensor, as if there is one for each side, but the car comes with only one plate, on the passenger (right) side where the Hall sensor is located. Hence, the driver side cam gear sits slightly further back compared the the passenger side....OK, maybe that's not the most interesting trivia.

Did you know that the 89GT was the only 32v S4 engine where CR was spec'd to be exactly 10.0 to 1....the rest were 10.0 to 1 and - 0.6 . Basically Porsche built them with some intake port matching too....

P.S. There were subtle engine mods in 1994 to reduce the amount of oil burned by the earlier GTS engines.

Later,

Same with the early cars as the distributor sat on the driver side.

I have files of "Did you know " stuff from doing the EVOLUTION line up for Sharktoberfest. If you read the display cards, you could see the differences of each year.

So this is one that never made it to the display cards, but really cool...I think...

1995 928 versus 1998 996 (hmmmmmmmmm...cowinkydinK?...maybe not!)

All differences can be measured on ONE HAND!!!

Overall wheelbase 928=98.43" 996=92.5" (928 is under 6" difference)
Overall length 928=177.95" 996=174.4" (928 is just over 3.5" longer!!!)
Overall width 928=74.41" 996=69.5" (928 is almost 5" fatter )
Overall height 928=50.47" 996=51.4" (928 is almost 1" shorter!!!)

However, the 928 is about 673lbs heavier!
Overall curb weight 928=3593lbs 996=2920lbs
