Did you know that in the early years there were two different floor pans - one for manual cars and one for automatics. The rear seats on the manual cars are a bit larger, because it doesn't have that big hump for the torque converter.

Did you know that burgundy is not an undesirable color

86.5 Meteor Metallic Grey w/Burgundy.... SOLD
87 Black w/Burgundy... looking good in the neighborhood.

The big problem with Burgundy is sun damage. It'll start to look mottled if different areas get more sun than others. I'm having my windiws tinted this time... lesson learned!

... but the seat thing is really interesting.

Did you know that European S4/GT/GTS models only use the outer two bulbs on each side for the tail light - the inner bulbs are used as rear fog lights. The switch for those is at the left bottom of the pod.

Did you know that non-sunroof cars have pop-down lighted glass makeup mirrors?

(Early cars only had them on the passenger side. )

Did you know that Porsche changed the non-airbag dashes around 1990 to use the same windshield vent covers that the airbag cars had? If you order a new dash, that's what you get.

Advantage: If a [non-US] car had a leather dash, and the leather started shrinking, it would not pull out of the vent cover as quickly as on the earlier dashes.

From my engine rebuild last year:

Did you know that the metal bracket that secures the transmission cable to the top of the bellhousing is strong enough to lift the front wheels off the ground?

Did you know that the smog pump can be bypassed with a lawn mower belt?

Did you know a transmission will leak from fill tank -- a lot -- if you leave a 928 sitting over the winter?

YOWZA!!!!!!!! You guys are blowing my mind with some of this info...this is great!!! So far I think Nicole gave me the best one with the change in screw driver handle color...

DID YOU KNOW..........The GTS cars have a relay slot targeted for "DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS". The relay can be gotten at any P car or VW supplier. The running lights are ALWAYS ON. Tis done on my car.

I BELIEVE this can be done on all MY US cars as well as relay slot III is not used. Just a guess here! I would think that all the digi dash cars have this ability...check your relay chart.

In 1987, Porsche used only one (1) engine for ALL 928's around the world from this point on to the end of production in 1995.

All 3 years of GTS production are ALL THE SAME. The ONLY difference was the elimination of the RDK tire pressure sensors and change to the 993 wheels, both in 1994....thats it! Of course everyone knows the 993 wheels were first introduced on the 928.

Track width changes were made only 3 times in 928 production

1987-1991 Front-61.06" Rear-60.90"
1992-1995 Front-61.06" Rear-63.62"

Keith ..... track was the same i grant you, but the 85/6 was the only one with HUGE slip-off spacers which, when removed, can EASILY fit a <40mm offset rear wheel
